4. System Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of your energy storage system.

4.1 Inspections Before Installation

4.2 Preparation of Tools and Meters

Ensure you have the necessary tools and personal protective equipment before starting installation.

4.3 Selection of Installation Location

  • Do not install in areas with flammable or explosive materials.
  • Avoid areas with salt damage (within 500m of shore or affected by sea breezes).
  • Install in a location inaccessible to children.
  • The energy storage unit cannot be installed forwardly, horizontally, inversely, backwardly, or sideways.
  • When drilling, wear goggles and protective gloves, shield the device from debris, and clean up thoroughly.
  • When handling heavy objects, be prepared to bear loads to avoid injury.

4.4 Installation Space Requirements

For floor mounting, ensure the battery is placed on a smooth, solid surface. Maintain a distance of 150-300mm between batteries and 200-500mm between the battery and the inverter.

5. Electrical Connection

All electrical connections must be performed by professional electrical technicians wearing personal protective equipment. Ensure all switches are in the "OFF" state before connecting to prevent electric shock.

5.2 Electrical Connection of One Battery Module

When connecting a single battery module, ensure the battery switch is OFF and the indicator light is OFF.

5.2.1 Connecting Signal Line

The signal line connects the RS485-Inverter interface of the battery module to the inverter. Some inverters may require connection to the RS485-2 interface.

5.2.2 Energy Storage Battery Module Address Setting

For a single battery, set the address to 0. Some inverters may require it to be set to 1.

5.3 Connecting Power Cord

If two batteries are used in parallel, connect the power cord of each battery. For multiple batteries, a bus bar is required.

6. System Debugging (Operating)

After installation, follow these steps to power on and debug the system.

6.2 Power-On of Battery Module

After connecting the battery to the inverter, power on in the following order:

  1. Turn on the breaker switch(es). If multiple battery modules, turn on all breaker switches.
  2. Turn on the battery switch button. The battery will start to work. If multiple modules, turn on each power switch one by one according to the address sequence.

The LCD screen provides real-time information about the battery's operating status. The main menu includes:

  • Pack Status: View protection status, protection times, and protection flags.

The SJY battery features smart connectivity via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and control.

7.1 Connecting via Bluetooth/Wi-Fi

  1. Install the WIFI antenna on the side of the battery.
  2. Download the "JBD Li-ion" app from your mobile app store.
  3. Open the app and add the device by scanning the QR code on the battery or manually entering its MAC code.
  4. Select a Wi-Fi network for configuration (supports 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi).
  5. Once connected, you can view basic parameters and settings in real-time.

8. System Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your energy storage system.

8.1 System Power-Off Procedure

Before any maintenance, ensure the system is safely powered off. Wear protective gloves as residual power and heat may be present.

For long-term storage (unused for more than 3 months), keep batteries in a dry, cool place with a storage voltage of 51V-53V and ambient temperature of 23±2°C with 45%-75% humidity. Recharge every 3 months to maintain voltage within the specified range.
