3.1 Connecting the Device to Your Vehicle
The ANCEL FX6100 connects to your vehicle via the OBDII port, also known as the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Locate the DLC: The DLC is typically a 16-pin port. In most vehicles, it is located within 12 inches of the center of the dashboard, under or around the driver's side. If not under the dashboard, a label may indicate its location. In some Asian and European vehicles, the DLC might be behind the ashtray, requiring its removal. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if you cannot find the DLC.
- Turn the Vehicle Ignition On: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned to the ON position. It is not necessary to start the engine.
- Connect the Diagnostic Cable: Plug the diagnostic cable into the vehicle's DLC port and the other end into the ANCEL FX6100 device.
- Power On the Device: Press and hold the Power/Screen Lock Button for 3 seconds to turn on the FX6100 device.
- Initial Setup: Once the Android system starts, follow the on-screen prompts to set the language and connect to Wi-Fi. The device will then display the main interface.
4. Operating Instructions
The ANCEL FX6100 offers various functions accessible from its main interface. Select the desired function to begin.
4.1 AutoSearch (AutoVIN)
The AutoSearch function automatically reads the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and identifies the make, model, and year. This allows for quick access to diagnostic functions without manual input. If VIN information cannot be read automatically, you can enter it manually.

4.2 Diagnose (Full System Diagnostic)
The Diagnose feature allows you to manually select the vehicle's brand, model, and year to initiate the diagnostic process. This is recommended when you are familiar with the vehicle's information. The FX6100 supports OE-level full-system diagnostics, covering over 30 ECUs including engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag, steering, and more.

4.3 OBD (On-Board Diagnostics)
OBD is crucial for vehicle maintenance, providing real-time data on engine speed, fuel efficiency, emissions, and sensor readings. It detects and displays fault codes for quick identification and resolution of issues. Pressing the OBD button automatically initiates connection to the vehicle's OBD system.
OBD2/EOBD Functions:

- Reading Codes: Displays detailed descriptions of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Erasing Codes & Reset: Turns off the Check Engine Light (MIL), clears codes, and resets monitors.
- Data Stream: Reads and displays live ECU/PCM data streams, plots functions graphically, and stores freeze frame data.
- I/M Readiness Status: Shows if emissions-related systems are operating correctly and ready for testing.
- Read Live Data Stream: Displays continuous data stream information in live graphic (waveform) format.
- View Freeze Frame Data: Checks vehicle conditions recorded by the on-board computer when an emission-related fault occurs.
- O2 Sensor Test: Allows retrieval and viewing of O2 sensor monitor test results.
- On-Board Monitor Test: Retrieves and displays test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems.
- Read Vehicle Information: Displays information such as VIN, CID (Calibration ID), and CVN (Calibration Verification Number).
- Component Test: Actuates certain vehicle components via commands from the scanner to test their operability.
4.4 Bi-Directional Control (Active Test)
The FX6100 supports full system two-way control, allowing you to command the ECU to execute specific actions. This active testing helps accurately identify invisible faults by directly controlling core modules like the engine, transmission, and ABS.

Examples of active tests include:
- Fuel pump/injector pressure test
- ABS pump forced exhaust
- Throttle opening calibration
- Turbocharger bypass valve test
