1. Product Overview

The ANCEL FX6100 is an intelligent diagnostic device powered by Android 8.1, designed for comprehensive vehicle diagnostics. It supports both touch and button operation modes, offering professional functions such as Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) reading and clearing, real-time data streaming, and actuation tests. The FX6100 is capable of diagnosing all Electronic Control Units (ECUs) in a vehicle, including Engine Control Module (ECM), Transmission Control Module (TCM), Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

This 2025 flagship model provides advanced capabilities for automotive fault diagnosis and maintenance.

The device combines a 6.2-inch HD touchscreen with physical buttons for versatile control:

Device Components:

  1. Diagnostic Cable Interface: Connects to the vehicle's OBD port for diagnosis.
  2. Power/Screen Lock Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off. Press once to lock or unlock the screen.
  3. Charging Port: Type-C port for charging or data transmission.
  4. TF Card Slot: Expandable storage slot supporting up to 128GB.
  5. Touch Screen: 6.2-inch display for user interaction.
  6. Direction Button: Controls cursor movement for selection.
  7. Confirm Button: Executes the selected function.
  8. Return Button: Cancels the current action or returns to the previous menu.

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Device to Your Vehicle

The ANCEL FX6100 connects to your vehicle via the OBDII port, also known as the Data Link Connector (DLC).

  1. Locate the DLC: The DLC is typically a 16-pin port. In most vehicles, it is located within 12 inches of the center of the dashboard, under or around the driver's side. If not under the dashboard, a label may indicate its location. In some Asian and European vehicles, the DLC might be behind the ashtray, requiring its removal. Refer to your vehicle's service manual if you cannot find the DLC.
  2. Turn the Vehicle Ignition On: Ensure the vehicle's ignition is turned to the ON position. It is not necessary to start the engine.
  3. Connect the Diagnostic Cable: Plug the diagnostic cable into the vehicle's DLC port and the other end into the ANCEL FX6100 device.
  4. Power On the Device: Press and hold the Power/Screen Lock Button for 3 seconds to turn on the FX6100 device.
  5. Initial Setup: Once the Android system starts, follow the on-screen prompts to set the language and connect to Wi-Fi. The device will then display the main interface.

4. Operating Instructions

The ANCEL FX6100 offers various functions accessible from its main interface. Select the desired function to begin.

4.1 AutoSearch (AutoVIN)

The AutoSearch function automatically reads the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and identifies the make, model, and year. This allows for quick access to diagnostic functions without manual input. If VIN information cannot be read automatically, you can enter it manually.

4.2 Diagnose (Full System Diagnostic)

The Diagnose feature allows you to manually select the vehicle's brand, model, and year to initiate the diagnostic process. This is recommended when you are familiar with the vehicle's information. The FX6100 supports OE-level full-system diagnostics, covering over 30 ECUs including engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag, steering, and more.

4.3 OBD (On-Board Diagnostics)

OBD is crucial for vehicle maintenance, providing real-time data on engine speed, fuel efficiency, emissions, and sensor readings. It detects and displays fault codes for quick identification and resolution of issues. Pressing the OBD button automatically initiates connection to the vehicle's OBD system.

  1. Reading Codes: Displays detailed descriptions of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  2. Erasing Codes & Reset: Turns off the Check Engine Light (MIL), clears codes, and resets monitors.
  3. Data Stream: Reads and displays live ECU/PCM data streams, plots functions graphically, and stores freeze frame data.
  4. I/M Readiness Status: Shows if emissions-related systems are operating correctly and ready for testing.
  5. Read Live Data Stream: Displays continuous data stream information in live graphic (waveform) format.
  6. View Freeze Frame Data: Checks vehicle conditions recorded by the on-board computer when an emission-related fault occurs.
  7. O2 Sensor Test: Allows retrieval and viewing of O2 sensor monitor test results.
  8. On-Board Monitor Test: Retrieves and displays test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems.
  9. Read Vehicle Information: Displays information such as VIN, CID (Calibration ID), and CVN (Calibration Verification Number).
  10. Component Test: Actuates certain vehicle components via commands from the scanner to test their operability.

4.4 Bi-Directional Control (Active Test)

The FX6100 supports full system two-way control, allowing you to command the ECU to execute specific actions. This active testing helps accurately identify invisible faults by directly controlling core modules like the engine, transmission, and ABS.

Examples of active tests include:

  • Fuel pump/injector pressure test
  • ABS pump forced exhaust
  • Throttle opening calibration
  • Turbocharger bypass valve test

4.5 Maintenance & Reset Services

The Maintenance menu provides 15 factory-level reset functions for regular vehicle upkeep, covering emission, power, chassis, and electrical systems.

4.6 File Management

The File function allows you to record and save diagnostic data, including reports, data streams, and images for future reference and analysis.

4.7 Consult (Repair Info Database)

The Consult function provides access to a comprehensive Repair Info database, which includes DTC code libraries, vehicle coverage lists, and detailed user manuals.

4.8 Customer Service

To access customer service, pull down the taskbar, locate the customer service icon, and click it. An online customer service representative will be available to answer your product-related questions.

4.9 Update

Use the Update function to check for and download new software and applications. The ANCEL FX6100 offers lifetime free updates via Wi-Fi.

4.10 Feedback

If you encounter unresolved issues or software bugs during diagnosis, use the Feedback function to send the last 20 diagnostic test records to the service team. This helps in prompt analysis and resolution to improve the product and user experience.

4.11 Settings

The Settings menu allows you to customize the device according to your preferences, including language, time zone, Wi-Fi, and business information.

4.12 Cast Screen Function

The ANCEL FX6100 features a wireless screen projection function. Real-time diagnostic data can be synchronized to mobile phones, tablets, or workshop large screens via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. This allows for clear viewing of fault codes, dynamic waveforms, and 3D disassembly animations. It supports multi-device split-screen collaboration, 1080P high-definition transmission with less than 0.1 second delay, and is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.

5. Troubleshooting (Q&A)

Q: Why does the software upgrade fail?
A: Please check whether the device is stably connected to the internet.
Q: Why is there no power with the device after connecting it to the vehicle's DLC port?
A: Please check whether the device is securely connected and verify that the vehicle's ignition switch is turned ON.
Q: Why can't I access the vehicle ECU system?
A: Please check whether the vehicle is equipped with the system, whether the device is correctly connected, and whether the vehicle ignition switch is ON.
Q: Why does the system stop while reading the data stream?
A: This may be caused by loose connection. Please unplug the device and try again.
Q: Why does the screen flash when the engine ignition starts?
A: This is a normal occurrence caused by electromagnetic interference.

7.1 Warranty Terms

8. User Tips

  • Stable Internet Connection: For successful software updates, always ensure your device has a stable internet connection.
  • Secure Connection & Ignition: If the device doesn't power on, double-check that it's securely connected to the vehicle's DLC port and that the vehicle's ignition switch is ON.
  • ECU System Access: If you cannot access a vehicle's ECU system, confirm that the vehicle is equipped with that system, the device is correctly connected, and the vehicle's ignition switch is ON.
  • Data Stream Interruption: If the system stops while reading data, it might be due to a loose connection. Disconnect and reconnect the device.
  • Screen Flashing: A flashing screen during engine ignition is normal and caused by electromagnetic interference.
  • Firmware Repair: If diagnostic data appears disordered due to high-frequency signal impact, or if all models cannot be diagnosed, prioritize using the "Firmware Repair" function.
