1. Introduction

The AIRITON AI-8088 is a state-of-the-art Global POC (Push-to-Talk Over Cellular) Network Walkie Talkie designed for reliable and extensive communication. Running on an Android operating system and utilizing 4G networks, it offers unlimited distance communication wherever cellular signals are available. Key features include IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating, built-in GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, and support for Zello application. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your AI-8088 device.

4. Device Layout

5. Initial Setup

5.1. SIM Card Installation

The AI-8088 supports dual SIM cards. To install:

1. Power off the device.
2. Remove the battery cover and battery.
3. Locate the SIM card slots.
4. Insert your SIM card(s) into the designated slots, ensuring correct orientation.
5. Reinsert the battery and replace the battery cover.

5.2. Battery Installation

1. Align the battery with the contacts in the battery compartment.
2. Press down gently until the battery clicks into place.
3. Replace the battery cover, ensuring it is securely latched to maintain IP68 rating.

5.3. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the battery.

1. Connect the Type-C USB cable to the charging port (17) on the device.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the power plug, a USB adapter, power bank, PC, or vehicle charger.
3. The indicator light (2) will show charging status.
4. Once fully charged, disconnect the charger.

5.4. Antenna Attachment

1. Screw the antenna (1) clockwise into the connector on top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off and Volume

• Power On: Press and hold the Power/Volume Knob (11) until the device powers on.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Volume Knob (11) until the power-off options appear, then select "Power Off".
• Adjust Volume: Rotate the Power/Volume Knob (11) clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.

6.2. Basic Navigation

• Use the Up/Down Keys (13) to scroll through menus.
• Press the Confirm Key (7) to select an option.
• Press the Return Key (14) to go back.
• Use the Numeric Keypad (9) for direct input or quick access functions.

6.3. Network Communication (POC)

The AI-8088 uses 4G cellular networks for Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication, typically through applications like Zello.

1. Ensure a valid SIM card with data plan is installed and network signal is available.
2. Open the Zello application (or other PTT app) on the device.
3. Log in or create an account.
4. Select your desired contact or group.
5. Press and hold the PTT Button (4) to speak. Release to listen.

6.4. Making/Receiving Phone Calls

With a SIM card installed, the AI-8088 can function as a mobile phone.

• To Make a Call: Access the dialer via the Dial Key (8) or menu, enter the number using the Numeric Keypad (9), and press the Confirm Key (7) or a designated call button.
• To Receive a Call: Press the Confirm Key (7) or designated answer button when a call comes in.
• To End a Call: Press the Hang Up Key (15).

6.5. GPS Function

The built-in GPS allows for location tracking. Ensure you are in an area with good GPS signal reception.

• Access GPS features through the device's menu or a dedicated mapping application.
• Your current location can be displayed and shared with others.

6.6. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Connectivity

• Wi-Fi: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi to connect to available Wi-Fi networks for internet access.
• Bluetooth: Go to Settings > Bluetooth to pair with Bluetooth headsets, speaker mics, or other compatible devices.

• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Waterproof Seal: Ensure the battery cover and all port covers are securely closed to maintain the IP68 waterproof rating.
