1. Product Overview

The AIFEN A9HD is a high-performance 180W power soldering iron station designed for electronic welding. It features an intelligent control system, handle wire control, contact temperature return, curve mode, and accurate control, all displayed on a vibrant 2.8-inch IPS Color Full View LCD Screen with a brand new UI interface. This station is compatible with C210 and C245 solder iron handles and tips.

3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all listed items are present.
  2. Placement: Place the soldering station on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  3. Handle Connection: Connect the soldering iron handle to the designated port on the station.
  4. Tip Installation: Insert the desired soldering tip into the handle. Ensure it is securely seated.
  5. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the station and then to a suitable power outlet (110V or 220V, depending on your model).
  6. Cleaning Accessories: Place the clean copper wire ball and brush in their respective holders for easy access during operation.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button to turn the station on. The LCD screen will display the AIFEN A9HD logo and version information. To turn off, press and hold the power button.

4.2 Temperature Setting and Memory Storage

  • The station offers four memory channels (CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4) to store frequently used temperature settings (e.g., 300°C, 350°C, 380°C, 420°C).
  • To select a preset, press the corresponding channel button.
  • To change a preset temperature, use the up/down arrow buttons to adjust the temperature, then press and hold the desired channel button to save the new setting.

4.3 Menu Settings

Press the 'OK' button to enter the system settings menu. Use the arrow buttons to navigate and 'OK' to select.

  • Display Mode: Choose between 'Standard' and 'Curve' modes.
  • Language Settings: Select your preferred language.
  • Sound Settings: Adjust sound preferences.
  • Temperature Unit: Switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

4.4 Curve Mode

In Curve Mode, the LCD screen displays a graph showing the actual temperature (blue line) and power (red line) over time. This provides a visual representation of the station's performance and temperature stability during soldering tasks.

4.5 Temperature Compensation and Recovery Progress

The A9HD station features sensitive temperature recovery. During soldering, especially on larger solder joints, the station quickly compensates for heat loss by increasing power to maintain the set temperature. The power schedule on the display intuitively shows the power recovery progress.

5. Maintenance

  • Tip Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering iron tip using the provided clean copper wire ball or brush. This helps maintain optimal heat transfer and extends tip life.
  • Station Cleaning: Keep the station clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Tip Replacement: When a tip wears out or a different tip is required, use the plug and unplug box for safe and easy replacement. Ensure the station is off and the tip has cooled before handling.
  • Storage: Store the soldering station in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Station Not Powering On: Check the power cord connection and ensure the power outlet is functional.
  • Temperature Not Reaching Set Point: Ensure the soldering tip is correctly installed and clean. Check for any error messages on the display.
