Figure 3: Receiver Front and Rear Panel Layout
  1. Connect Antennas: Screw the two included antennas into the ANT-A and ANT-B connectors on the rear panel of the receiver. Ensure they are securely tightened and positioned for optimal signal reception.
  2. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the 'POWER IN' port on the rear panel of the receiver, then connect the adapter to a suitable power outlet.
  3. Audio Output Connection:
    • Individual Outputs: For separate control of each microphone, connect XLR cables from 'A OUTPUT' and 'B OUTPUT' on the receiver to the corresponding input channels on your mixer or amplifier.
    • Mixed Output: For a combined signal, connect a 6.35mm audio cable from the 'MIXED OUTPUT' on the receiver to a single input on your mixer or amplifier.

3.2 Microphone Setup

  1. Install Batteries: Unscrew the bottom part of each handheld microphone and insert two AA batteries, observing the correct polarity. Screw the bottom back on securely. The OLED display on the microphone will show the battery level.
  2. (Optional) Bodypack Transmitter Setup: If using bodypack transmitters (for lavalier or headset mics), open the battery compartment and insert two AA batteries. Connect your lavalier or headset microphone to the input jack on the bodypack.

3.3 Power On and Frequency Synchronization (ACT IR Sync)

Figure 5: ACT IR Sync Technology in action
  1. Power On Receiver: Press the 'POWER' button on the front panel of the receiver. The LCD displays will light up.
  2. Power On Microphones: Press and hold the power button on each handheld microphone (or bodypack transmitter) until its OLED display lights up.
  3. Automatic Frequency Scan: On the receiver, use the shuttle knobs to navigate to the frequency scanning function (refer to the receiver's LCD for menu options). Initiate a scan to find clear, undisturbed frequencies.
  4. IR Synchronization: Once a clear frequency is selected on the receiver, activate the IR sync function on the receiver. Position the IR window of the handheld microphone (or bodypack transmitter) close to the IR window on the receiver. The receiver will transmit the frequency information to the microphone, and the microphone's display will update to show the synchronized channel and frequency. Repeat for the second microphone.
  5. Volume Adjustment: Adjust the volume levels on your mixer/amplifier and the receiver's output to a suitable level.

4. Operating Instructions

Figure 7: Four Antenna Reception and Effective Distance

The system offers an effective working distance of 150-200 meters in open and wide areas. Performance may vary depending on environmental factors such as obstacles, interference, and line of sight.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver and microphones. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace AA batteries in the microphones when the battery indicator on the OLED display shows low power. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries for optimal performance.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from microphones and store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Antenna Care: Handle antennas carefully to avoid bending or breaking. Ensure they are properly connected for best signal.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Optimal Placement: For best wireless performance, ensure the receiver antennas have a clear line of sight to the microphones. Avoid placing the receiver near large metal objects or other wireless devices that could cause interference.
  • Battery Management: Always carry spare AA batteries, especially for long events, as microphone battery life is approximately 10 hours. The OLED display on the microphone provides a battery level indicator.
  • Frequency Scanning: Before each use, especially in new environments, utilize the receiver's automatic frequency scanning function to identify and lock onto the clearest available channels. This minimizes potential interference.
  • Volume Staging: Start with low volume settings on both the microphones and the receiver, gradually increasing them to avoid sudden loud noises or feedback.
