7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Hikity MP5 player, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Power: Check all power connections (B+, ACC, Ground). Ensure the vehicle's fuse for the radio is not blown.
  • No Sound: Verify speaker wiring connections. Check volume levels on both the unit and your connected device. Ensure the unit is not muted.
  • Bluetooth Not Connecting: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the unit and your phone. Delete previous pairings and try pairing again. Make sure the unit is discoverable.
  • CarPlay/Android Auto Not Launching:
    • Wired Connection: Ensure you are using a high-quality, original USB cable. Try a different USB port if available. Check your phone's settings for CarPlay/Android Auto permissions.
    • Wireless CarPlay: Confirm your iPhone's Bluetooth is on and paired. If issues persist, try a wired connection to rule out wireless interference.
  • Mirror Link Issues: Ensure your phone's operating system version is compatible (Apple iOS 13.4, Android 10.1 or newer). Try both USB and Wi-Fi connections. Some phones may require specific developer options enabled for Mirror Link.
  • Rear View Camera Not Displaying: Check the camera's power and video signal connections. Ensure the reverse trigger wire is correctly connected to the vehicle's reverse light circuit.

8. User Tips

  • CarPlay/Android Auto Connectivity: While the unit supports wireless CarPlay, some users might find a wired connection more stable, especially for initial setup or if experiencing intermittent disconnections. For Android Auto, a wired connection is typically used for full functionality.
  • Screen Responsiveness: If the touchscreen feels unresponsive, a soft reset (usually by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds) can often resolve minor software glitches.
  • Customizing UI: Explore the 18 sets of UI theme wallpapers in the settings to personalize your head unit's appearance.
