2. Package Contents

Please check the package contents carefully upon receipt:

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Pre-Installation Check

Before proceeding with installation, verify the compatibility of the car radio with your vehicle. Some original car connectors may not be compatible. If your original car connector resembles the one shown in Figure 3, this unit cannot be installed.

3.2 Wiring Diagram

Refer to the following diagram for connecting the main host device. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the unit.

3.3 Rear View Camera Connection

To connect the rearview camera (optional accessory):

  1. Connect the red wire (labeled 2) to the car's backlight "+" terminal.
  2. Connect the black cable (labeled 1) to the car's "GND" (ground) terminal.
  3. Connect the reverse detection cable (brown, labeled 4) to the red cable (labeled 3) extending from the video output cable.
  4. Refer to Figure 5 for visual guidance.

3.4 Steering Wheel Control Setup

Setting up steering wheel controls allows for convenient operation of the car radio while driving.

3.4.1 With CanBus Box

If your unit includes a CanBus box:

  1. Before setup, confirm that the CanBus box and the 8-pin serial cable are correctly connected to the multimedia unit.
  2. Refer to Figure 6 for the wiring and software settings to configure your car model.

3.4.2 Without CanBus Box

If your unit does not have a CanBus box, you will need to manually learn the steering wheel controls:

  1. Navigate to the 'Keys' settings in the system menu.
  2. Select 'Steering wheel button learn'.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions:
    • Method 1: First, select the function on the screen, then press the steering wheel button for 1 second to release it.
    • Method 2: Press and release the steering wheel button for 1 second, and then select the function on the screen.
  4. Refer to Figure 7 for visual guidance.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Interface and Settings

The MEKEDE Android 14 Car Radio features an intuitive interface. You can customize the display, language, and other system settings.

  • Language Settings: Navigate to 'Display' in the settings menu to change the system language. The unit supports multiple languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Hindi, and Brazilian.
  • Wallpaper: Customize your unit's background by selecting from various pre-installed wallpapers or adding your own in the 'Wallpaper' settings.
  • Date & Time: Adjust date, time, and time zone settings under 'Datetime'.

4.2 CarPlay and Android Auto

The unit supports both wired and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

4.2.1 Wireless Connection

For wireless CarPlay or Android Auto:

  1. Connect your mobile phone via Bluetooth.
  2. For CarPlay, click on the "R Lin-k" app and wait for connection.
  3. For Android Auto, click on the "Android Auto App" and wait for connection.

4.2.2 Wired Connection

CarPlay and Android Auto can also be connected via a USB cable.

4.3 GPS Navigation

The built-in global positioning system provides omni-directional map display and real-time traffic conditions. The unit supports various navigation apps such as iGO, Sygic, Yandex, Google Maps, Waze, and AMAP.

4.4 Bluetooth Function

The smart Bluetooth system supports mobile phone pairing for hands-free calling, Bluetooth music streaming, and contact synchronization.

4.5 FM Radio

4.7 Reversing Video (Optional)
