6. Operating Instructions

This section outlines the general procedure for changing a tire using the U-226 Tyre Changer. Always refer to the detailed instructions in the full manual for specific steps and safety precautions.

  1. Preparation:
    • Ensure the tire is deflated.
    • Lubricate the tire beads and rim edges with approved tire lubricant.
  2. Mounting the Wheel:
    • Use the pneumatic roller disc of the help arm system to lift heavy tires onto the turntable.
    • Position the wheel on the turntable and secure it using the quick clamping mechanism with central positioning. Ensure the wheel is centered and firmly clamped.
  3. Bead Breaking:
    • Position the bead breaker shovel against the tire sidewall, close to the rim edge.
    • Activate the bead breaker to gently push the tire bead away from the rim. Repeat for both sides of the tire.
  4. Tire Demounting:
    • Adjust the mounting head to the correct position, ensuring it clears the rim edge.
    • Use the help arm's nylon bead roller to guide the upper bead over the mounting head.
    • Rotate the turntable to fully demount the upper bead.
    • Reposition the mounting head and use the 360° moving bead pressing block to assist in demounting the lower bead.
    • Rotate the turntable to fully demount the lower bead.
  5. Tire Mounting:
    • Lubricate the new tire beads.
    • Position the lower bead of the new tire onto the rim, using the help arm's bead pressing block if needed.
    • Guide the upper bead over the mounting head with the nylon bead roller, rotating the turntable until the tire is fully mounted.
  6. Inflation:
    • Inflate the tire to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
    • Always use a pressure gauge and stand clear during inflation.
