Operating Instructions

Tracking Modes

The TK600 offers four distinct work modes, which can be switched via SMS commands or through the mobile application:

  1. Vibration Saving Power Mode (Default): The device reports its position based on movement and a set interval. Battery life varies with the reporting frequency (e.g., 1.5-2 days with 2-minute intervals, 2 days with 10-minute intervals for a 1500mAh battery).
  2. Single Position Mode: The app will show the device as "online," but GPS time updates only when you manually request a position update in the app. Otherwise, it conserves power by remaining in a sleep state.
  3. Emergency Real-time Mode: The device remains continuously active, providing constant real-time tracking without power-saving measures.
  4. SMS Mode (GPRS Closed): To get a location, call the device's SIM card number or send the SMS command smslink123456. The device will reply with a Google Maps link to the administrator's phone number. This mode offers approximately 10 days of operation.

Power Saving Efficiency (Best to Worst): SMS Mode > Single Position Mode > Vibration Saving Power Mode > Emergency Real-time Mode.

Alarm Functions

The TK600 provides several alert mechanisms to enhance security and monitoring:

  • Vibration Alarm: Automatically triggers an alarm if the device detects abnormal vibration.
  • Low Battery Alarm: Notifies you when the device's power drops below 20%.
  • Electronic Fence (Geo-fence): Sends an alarm when the device enters or leaves a predefined safe zone.
  • Removal Alarm: An alert is sent if the device is disassembled or removed from its placement.
  • Over-speed Alarm: Notifies you if the tracked object exceeds a set speed limit.

Alarms can be pushed through the tracking platform, mobile app, phone calls, and SMS messages.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device not turning on.Low battery.Charge the device for at least 2-3 hours.
No GPS signal (blue light off/blinking).Device indoors or obstructed view of sky.Take the device outdoors with a clear view of the sky. Wait a few minutes for signal acquisition.
No GSM signal (green light off/blinking).SIM card not inserted correctly, no credit, GPRS not enabled, or out of 2G network coverage.Reinsert SIM card, check SIM card balance and GPRS activation, move to an area with 2G coverage.
Cannot log into the app/web platform.Incorrect IMEI or password.Verify IMEI number (from device sticker) and use default password 123456. If still unable, contact support.
Inaccurate location.Weak GPS signal, LBS (Location Based Service) being used instead of GPS.Ensure device has a clear view of the sky. LBS provides approximate location when GPS is unavailable.
Short battery life.Device in Emergency Real-time mode or frequent location updates.Switch to a power-saving mode (Vibration Saving Power Mode or SMS Mode) and adjust location update intervals.
