5. Setup

6.1. Charging Batteries
- Automatic Recognition: Once batteries are inserted, the L4 Pro will smart detect the battery type (Ni-MH or 1.5V Li-ion) and automatically apply the optimal charging method.
- Monitoring Progress: The easy-to-read LCD screen will display the working mode, battery type, and charging process for each slot.
- Error Reminder: If a non-rechargeable or mismatched rechargeable battery is inserted, the screen will show "Err" for that slot. Remove the problematic battery immediately.
- Full Charge: The charger uses XTAR’s unique CVSA slope full charge detection technology to accurately determine when the battery is fully charged, ensuring a complete charge with lower heat generation. The screen will indicate "Done" when charging is complete.

6.2. Discharge & Refresh Modes (for Ni-MH batteries)
The L4 Pro offers two refresh modes to maximize old battery capacity. These modes are primarily for Ni-MH batteries.
- Switching Modes: Long press the button on the charger to cycle between DisCHG Mode and Refresh Mode.
- DisCHG Mode (Daily and Quick Refresh): Ideal for batteries that are not too old. It performs a single discharge-charge cycle to eliminate memory effect and improve capacity.
- Refresh Mode (Deep and Intelligent Refresh): Suitable for older or often-used batteries. It intelligently adjusts the discharge-charge cycles (1-4 cycles) based on the battery condition to restore full charge capacity.

6.3. Low-Voltage Battery Recovery
The L4 Pro features Micro-Current Activation Technology to safely recover over-discharged or "zombie batteries" with a higher success rate. If the battery activation fails, the screen will display an "Err" reminder.
