6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

  • PIR Detectors (HW-06B): Replace 2 AA LR6 AM3 1.5V batteries when the low voltage alarm is triggered.
  • Door Sensors (MC-06A): Replace the 3V CR2450 lithium battery when the low power alert is indicated.
  • Remote Controllers (YK-07A): Replace 2PCS 3V CR2016 Li-ion batteries as needed.

6.2. Cleaning

  • Wipe the alarm panel and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

6.3. Firmware Updates

  • Check the mobile app regularly for any available firmware updates for the alarm host to ensure optimal performance and security.

6.4. Signal Strength

  • Periodically check the Wi-Fi and GSM signal strength on the alarm panel to ensure reliable communication.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Q: Can this alarm system work with WIFI and GSM Sim Card together? So if the WIFI failure, the machine can switch GSM/GPRS mode to work.
A: Yes. The system supports dual-network operation. If Wi-Fi fails, it will automatically switch to GSM/GPRS mode for alarm notifications (SMS and calls).
  • Q: It just with WIFI in my house and without GSM Sim Card, can I use this alarm system?
A: Yes. The WT2R Alarm System can operate in 2.4G Wi-Fi mode only. However, for maximum reliability, using a GSM SIM card is recommended as a backup.
  • Q: Can I add additional remote controllers, door sensors, PIR sensors, smoke detectors, gas detectors or other sensors to work with this alarm system?
A: Yes. The WT2R alarm system is expandable and can support up to 10 wireless zones (80 detectors in total) and 3 wired zones.
  • Q: Does the alarm panel have a backup battery?
A: Yes. The WT2R alarm system includes an internal rechargeable backup lithium battery. This allows the system to continue functioning properly and provide alerts even during a power outage.
  • False Alarms:
    • Ensure PIR detectors are not placed near windows, vents, or areas with significant temperature fluctuations that could trigger false alarms.
    • Verify that pet-immune sensors are correctly configured if you have pets.
    • Check that door/window sensors are securely attached and aligned.
  • App Connectivity Issues:
    • Confirm your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz.
    • Check your Wi-Fi signal strength.
    • Restart your router and the alarm panel.
    • Ensure the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app is updated to the latest version.

8. User Tips

  • Strategic Sensor Placement: For optimal security, place PIR motion detectors in high-traffic areas and door/window sensors on all accessible entry points. Consider additional sensors for gas leaks, smoke, or water intrusion.
  • Dual-Network Advantage: Always use both Wi-Fi and a GSM SIM card for your alarm system. This ensures that even if one communication method fails (e.g., Wi-Fi outage), the system can still send critical alerts via the cellular network.
  • Regular Testing: Periodically test all sensors and the alarm system's functionality to ensure everything is working correctly. This includes testing the siren, app notifications, and SMS/call alerts.
  • RFID Convenience: Utilize the RFID cards for quick and easy disarming when entering your home, especially if you prefer not to use the keypad or app every time.
  • App Customization: Explore the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" app settings to customize alarm sounds, arm/disarm delays, and notification preferences to suit your lifestyle.
