1. Product Overview

The ORICO Home Media Data Center (Model CS200pro) is a versatile dual-bay Network Attached Storage (NAS) device designed to be your central hub for family data backup, media streaming, and remote access. It supports massive expandable storage up to 64TB, features real-time 4K transcoding, and operates on the innovative CyberData OS for seamless data management across various platforms.

This device allows you to store all your digital content—photos, videos, music, and files—in your own private storage, freeing up space on your smartphones, tablets, and PCs. With global remote access capabilities, you can quickly view and relive memories anytime, anywhere with an internet connection.

Before you begin, please ensure all items are present in your package:

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Hardware Installation (Hard Drives)

The ORICO MetaHome Pro supports 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs (up to 24TB per slot) and M.2 NVMe 2280 SSDs (up to 8TB per slot) for a total capacity of 64TB. Hard drives are sold separately.

  1. Carefully open the device to access the drive bays.
  2. Install your 3.5-inch SATA HDDs/SSDs into the designated slots. Secure them with the provided screws.
  3. Install your M.2 NVMe 2280 SSDs into their respective slots.
  4. Close the device securely.

3.2 Initial Connection

  1. Connect the ORICO MetaHome Pro to your router using one of the provided network cables.
  2. Connect the power adapter to the device and plug it into a power outlet.
  3. Power on the device.

3.3 Software Setup (CyberData OS)

The ORICO MetaHome Pro runs on the CyberData OS. You will need to download the companion app for your mobile device or access the web interface on your computer for initial setup and management.

  1. Download the App: Search for "CyberData OS" or "ORICO MetaHome" in your device's app store (iOS/Android).
  2. Bind Device: Open the app. You will be prompted to bind your device. You can typically do this by scanning a QR code on the device or entering its IP address/serial number.
  3. Initial Configuration: Follow the on-screen instructions within the app or web interface to set up your storage pools, user accounts, and network settings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Data Backup and Upload

The MetaHome Pro supports automatic backups and manual uploads from various devices.

  • Automatic Backup: Configure LAN Auto Backup or Wi-Fi Network Auto Backup in the CyberData OS settings to automatically sync photos and videos from your phone, and data from your PC/Mac.
  • Manual Upload: Use the File Manager in the CyberData OS app or web interface to manually upload files and documents. You can upload photos, videos, music, and office documents.

4.2 Remote Access and Sharing

With P2P technology, you can access your files remotely from anywhere with an internet connection.

  • Access Files: Log into your CyberData OS account via the app or web interface to browse and download your stored content.
  • Share Content: Easily share content with friends and family by providing them access through the app, often via a QR code or shared link.

4.3 Multimedia Features

6. Maintenance and Troubleshooting

6.1 General Maintenance

  • Keep the device in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates through the CyberData OS app or web interface to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Perform regular data backups to external storage or cloud services as an additional layer of protection.
  • Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.

6.2 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the device and a working power outlet.
  • Cannot access device on network: Verify network cable connections. Check your router settings and ensure the device is connected to the same local area network (LAN) as your accessing device. Try restarting both the NAS and your router.
  • App cannot bind device: Ensure your mobile device is on the same LAN as the NAS. Try rescanning or manually entering the IP address/serial number.
  • Slow transfer speeds: Check your network connection speed. Ensure your network cables are in good condition. Consider using Link Aggregation if your network infrastructure supports it and you have dual 2.5GbE ports configured.
  • Data integrity issues: The MetaHome Pro utilizes an Enterprise-Grade ZFS File System which supports snapshot management, data integrity checks, and rollback features. If you suspect data corruption, consult the advanced settings in CyberData OS or refer to the full PDF manual for recovery options.

7. User Tips

  • For optimal performance and data safety, consider using hard drives specifically designed for NAS environments.
  • Utilize the multi-account feature to create separate, encrypted spaces for different family members, enhancing privacy and organization.
  • Take advantage of the AI Photo Album's smart categorization to quickly find specific memories by face, scene, or location.
  • If you plan to stream 4K content, ensure your home network is robust enough to handle the bandwidth requirements.
