6. Setup

6.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert one 9V (6F22 type) battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Power ON/OFF

  • Press the Open Key (power button) to turn the device ON.
  • Press and hold the Open Key again for a few seconds to turn the device OFF.

7.2 Basic Measurement

  • Once powered on, the device will automatically begin measuring light intensity.
  • Point the optical probe towards the light source you wish to measure.
  • The illuminance value will be displayed on the LCD screen.

7.3 LUX/FC Unit Selection

  • The device supports both Lux and Foot-candle (Fc) units.
  • To switch between units, briefly press the MAX button. The unit displayed on the screen will change accordingly.

7.4 Max/Min Measurement

  • Press the MAX button to cycle through different display modes:
  • MAX: Displays the maximum measured value since the device was turned on or reset.
  • MIN: Displays the minimum measured value since the device was turned on or reset.
  • Current Reading: Returns to displaying the real-time measurement.

7.5 Data Hold Function

  • To freeze the current reading on the display, briefly press the MAX button until the 'HOLD' symbol appears on the screen.
  • To release the data hold and resume real-time measurement, press the MAX button again.

7.6 Backlight Function

  • The device features an HD backlight for improved readability in low-light conditions.
  • The backlight typically activates automatically when the device is powered on or a button is pressed. It may turn off after a period of inactivity to save power.

7.7 Automatic Power Off

  • To conserve battery life, the device will automatically power off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
  • To disable this feature (if possible, consult specific device settings if available) or to resume operation, simply press the Open Key to turn it back on.
