5.1 Physical Installation
- Placement: Position the switch on a stable, flat surface (desktop) or mount it to a wall. Ensure adequate ventilation around the device.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC power input on the rear panel of the switch and then to a standard AC power outlet.
- Grounding: For enhanced safety, connect a grounding wire to the grounding screw on the rear panel and to a suitable ground source.
5.2 Network Connections
- PoE Devices: Connect your PoE-compatible devices (e.g., IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points) to ports 1-8 using standard Ethernet cables. The switch will automatically detect and power these devices.
- Uplink Connection: Connect the uplink ports (9 or 10) to your router, NVR, or main network switch using a standard Ethernet cable.
5.3 Application Topologies
The switch can be integrated into various network setups:

Figure 6: Enterprise Topology, showing the switch connecting multiple PoE cameras to an NVR and monitor.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On
Once connected to power, the switch will automatically power on. The 'P' LED indicator will illuminate, indicating power is supplied.
6.2 LED Indicators
- P (Power): Solid green when the switch is powered on.
- PoE+ (Ports 1-8): Indicates PoE status for connected devices.
- Link/Act (All Ports): Indicates network activity and link status.
- AI (AI Mode): Indicates if AI PoE mode is active.
6.3 DIP Switch Functions
The switch features DIP switches to enable specific functionalities:
- Switch 1 (Extend): When enabled, extends the PoE transmission distance up to 250 meters for ports 1-8. This mode typically reduces the data rate to 10Mbps.
- Switch 2 (AI PoE): When enabled, activates AI PoE intelligent detection. This feature automatically detects unresponsive PoE devices and reboots them to restore functionality.
6.4 Port Isolation
The switch supports port isolation, which prevents traffic from being sent between isolated ports. This enhances security and reduces broadcast storms within the network segment.

Figure 7: Diagram illustrating Port Isolation feature, preventing traffic from being sent between isolated ports.
6.5 Intelligent Detection (AI PoE)
With the AI PoE feature enabled via the DIP switch, the switch can automatically detect if a connected PoE device becomes unresponsive (e.g., an IP camera freezes). It will then automatically power cycle that specific port to reboot the device, helping to maintain network stability and device uptime.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the switch with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and obstructions.
7.2 Surge Protection
The switch is equipped with 4 kV surge protection to safeguard against sudden electrical surges caused by lightning strikes or power fluctuations. While this provides a level of protection, it is always recommended to use surge protectors for your power outlets in areas prone to electrical disturbances.

7.3 Smart Power Guard
The integrated Smart Power Guard feature provides instant circuit break on overload or short circuits, protecting connected equipment and safely restoring power once the issue is resolved.

8. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the switch and a working power outlet. Check the 'P' LED indicator.
- No Link/Activity: Verify that Ethernet cables are properly connected to both the switch and the connected device. Check the Link/Act LEDs. Try a different cable or port.
- PoE Device Not Powering On: Ensure the connected device is PoE-compatible (IEEE802.3af/at). Check the PoE+ LED for the port. If using extended mode, ensure the device can operate at 10Mbps. If AI PoE is enabled, the switch may attempt to reboot the device.
- Slow Network Speed: Check cable quality and length. If 'Extend' mode is enabled, the speed is limited to 10Mbps. Ensure your uplink connection is Gigabit if you expect Gigabit speeds.
- Intermittent Connectivity: Check for loose cable connections. Ensure the switch is not overheating and has proper ventilation.

10. User Tips
- For optimal performance, use high-quality Ethernet cables (Cat5e or Cat6) for all connections.
- If you experience issues with PoE devices over long distances, ensure the 'Extend' DIP switch is enabled for the relevant ports. Remember this will reduce the data rate.
- Utilize the 'AI PoE' feature to automatically manage unresponsive PoE devices, reducing the need for manual intervention.
- Consider the total power budget (120W) when connecting multiple PoE devices to avoid overloading the switch.
- Ensure the switch is placed in an area with good airflow, especially if many PoE devices are connected, to prevent heat buildup.
