4. Setup Guide

4.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided PD Charger to the monitor's Type-C power input port.
  2. Plug the PD Charger into a power outlet.

4.2 Device Connection

The KINHANK K18G offers multiple connectivity options:

  • USB Type-C (Full Function):

For compatible laptops, smartphones, and other devices that support video output via USB-C (DisplayPort Alternate Mode) and power delivery, connect the monitor using the supplied USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable. This single cable can transmit video, audio, and power.

  • HDMI:

For devices such as desktop PCs, gaming consoles (Xbox, PS4/PS5, Switch, Steam Deck), and other HDMI-enabled devices, use the provided HDMI to HDMI cable. Connect one end to the monitor's Standard HD IN port and the other to your device. When using HDMI, ensure the monitor is also powered via the PD Charger connected to its Type-C power input port, as HDMI typically does not provide sufficient power.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or alcohol-based solutions, as these can damage the screen surface.
  • Cleaning the Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monitor's body.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Always handle the monitor with care. Avoid applying pressure to the screen or dropping the device.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the PD Charger is securely connected to both the monitor and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet or charger if available.
  • No Signal / Black Screen: Verify that the video cable (USB-C or HDMI) is correctly connected to both the monitor and your source device. Ensure your source device is powered on and configured to output video. If using HDMI, confirm the monitor is also receiving power via its Type-C port.
  • Image Distortion or Incorrect Colors: Check the video cable for damage. Adjust display settings on both the monitor (via OSD) and your source device.
  • No Sound: Check the monitor's volume settings (via OSD or dedicated buttons) and ensure your source device's volume is not muted. If using external speakers or headphones, ensure they are properly connected to the 3.5mm audio jack.
  • Remote Control Not Responding: Check the batteries in the remote control and replace them if necessary. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the monitor's IR receiver.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal single-cable connectivity (video, audio, power), ensure your laptop or smartphone supports full-feature USB-C output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode and Power Delivery).
  • When connecting via HDMI, always use the provided PD Charger to power the monitor separately for stable operation.
  • Experiment with the 165° rotating bracket to find the most ergonomic and comfortable viewing angle for different tasks, whether for productivity or entertainment.
  • Utilize the built-in Google TV OS to its full potential by exploring various streaming apps and the Google Voice Assistant for a smart display experience.
