2. System Setup and Installation

Proper installation and calibration are crucial for the optimal performance of your STONKAM 360-degree bird view parking system. It is recommended that installation be performed by a qualified technician.

2.1 Component Identification

Before installation, identify all components included in your package:

  • Main Control Box (BVA18)
  • HD Monitor (e.g., HD293D)
  • 4 or 6 Ultra-wide Angle HD Cameras (FHD808)
  • Wiring Harnesses
  • Calibration Mats
  • Optional: Radar Sensors, Pedestrian Detection Camera

2.2 Camera Placement and Wiring

The system supports 4 or 6 channels for comprehensive coverage. Cameras should be strategically placed around the vehicle to capture a full 360-degree view. For super long vehicles, 6 cameras are recommended for seamless splicing.

Ensure all cables are securely connected and protected from environmental elements. The system is designed for 10-32V power supply.

2.3 Automatic Calibration

The system features automatic calibration to simplify the setup process. This eliminates the need for complex traditional panoramic splicing correction.

  1. Place the provided square calibration mats around the vehicle as instructed by the system software.
  2. Access the AVM Calibration menu on the monitor.
  3. Select "Automatic Calibration" and follow the on-screen prompts. The software will automatically perform plane correction and stitch the camera feeds.

3.2 Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)

The system integrates several ADAS features to enhance safety:

  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW): The front-view camera provides FCW functionality without requiring additional cameras. It intelligently analyzes the distance and relative speed to the preceding vehicle, estimating potential rear-end collision risks and alerting the driver.
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) Diagram

  • Pedestrian Detection: When working with an HD camera, the system can detect pedestrians and vehicles around the vehicle body in real-time, including in the stitched panoramic view, to prevent accidents caused by blind spots.
  • Pedestrian Detection System in Operation
