1. Introduction

The ANYFAR Wireless Carplay Android Auto Module is a retrofit kit designed to add CarPlay and Android Auto functionality to your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. This module integrates seamlessly with your existing display and retains the use of original car controls, such as the rotary controller and steering wheel buttons, providing an OEM-like experience.

3. Compatible Models

This module is compatible with Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the NTG5.0 or NTG5.1 system from 2015-2018. It is NOT compatible with NTG4.0, NTG4.5, or NTG4.7 systems.

5. Installation Guide

5.1 Toggle Switch Setup

Before installation, set the DIP switches on the module according to your car model and desired screen resolution. Refer to the diagram below for the location of the DIP switches and the table for settings.

5.2 Cable Connection Chart

Carefully follow the wiring diagram below to connect all cables. Ensure connections are secure and correct to avoid damage.

6. Operation Instructions

6.1 Functional Overview

The module integrates CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing interaction with your iPhone or Android device through the central control knob and voice commands. It supports both wireless and wired connections for CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling access to phone functions, information, navigation, and music. The smart module also supports reversing video input, allowing connection of rear-view cameras.

6.2 Wireless CarPlay Connection Method

  1. Open the system's Wireless CarPlay connection settings.
  2. On your phone, turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and keep them active.
  3. Select the Bluetooth device name (e.g., “CX_BT XXXX”) on your phone. A pairing request will pop up; confirm to use CarPlay.

6.3 Wireless Android Auto Connection Method

  1. Open the system's Wireless Android Auto connection settings.
  2. On your phone, turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and keep them active. Select the Bluetooth device name (e.g., “CX_BT XXXX”) on your phone to pair. After successful Bluetooth pairing, follow the on-screen prompts for the Android Auto connection process.

6.4 Audio Settings

To ensure proper audio output, navigate to the module's audio settings:

  1. Go to Setup > Audio settings.
  2. Enable "Use the original Bluetooth audio" option.
  3. Connect your phone's Bluetooth to the car's Bluetooth (MB Bluetooth).
  4. Keep the car's Bluetooth Audio interface active.
  5. On your phone, select the car's Bluetooth as the audio source.

6.5 System Switching

After all cables are connected, you can switch between the original NTG 5 car interface and the CarPlay/Android Auto interface by long-pressing the "Back" button on the central control knob.

6.6 Steering Wheel Button Control

The module supports control via the original steering wheel buttons. Note that operation methods may vary slightly depending on your specific car model. Consult customer service if needed.

  • Rotary Controller:
    1. Long press to switch system.
    2. Short press to confirm; long press to confirm to activate voice control.
    3. Right dial 15 seconds to reset.
  • Steering Wheel Buttons:
    1. Long press to switch system.
    2. Short press to answer the phone.
    3. Short press to hang up or activate.
    4. Short press to increase or decrease volume.
    5. Long press to reset the system.

6.7 Camera Function

The module supports various camera inputs:

  • Supports factory original reverse camera and parking radar.
  • Supports aftermarket reverse camera and 360 camera systems.
