5.2 Measurement Modes

The flow meter features four distinct measurement modes, which can be switched using the button on the device:

  • SINGLE MODE: Measures water consumption during a single watering session. This mode resets after each use or when switched.
  • FLOW MODE: Displays the real-time water flow speed (e.g., GAL/MIN or L/MIN).
  • AVG MODE: Shows the daily average water consumption over the last 7 days (e.g., GAL/D or L/D).
  • TOTAL MODE: Accumulates and displays the total water consumption since the last reset (e.g., TOTAL GAL or TOTAL L).

5.3 Button Operation

Press the button on the front of the device to cycle through the different measurement modes. A long press may be required to reset certain modes (e.g., SINGLE or TOTAL) or to switch units (Liters/Gallons).

5.4 Additional Features

  • Unit Switching: The device supports switching between Liters (L) and Gallons (GAL). Refer to the on-screen prompts or a long press of the button to change units.
  • No Operation Sleep Mode: To conserve battery life, the device will enter a sleep mode after a period of inactivity. It will wake up automatically upon water flow or button press.
  • Low Battery Reminder: The LCD will display a low battery icon when the CR2032 battery needs replacement.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Inlet Filter: Periodically check and clean the inlet filter to ensure optimal water flow and prevent clogging from sediment. Unscrew the top connector, remove the filter, rinse it under running water, and reinsert it.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace the CR2032 3V button battery when the low battery indicator appears on the LCD.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during freezing temperatures, disconnect the flow meter, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, protected area.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Display: Check if the CR2032 battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace the battery if necessary.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the flow meter is installed correctly and there are no leaks in the connections. Verify that the water pressure is within the specified working pressure range (0.5-8.0 Bar). Clean the inlet filter if it appears clogged.
  • No Water Flow Detection: Check for obstructions in the water path or a severely clogged inlet filter. Ensure water pressure is adequate.

8. User Tips

  • Always ensure a tight seal when connecting the flow meter to avoid leaks and ensure accurate readings.
  • For consistent measurements, try to maintain a steady water flow during use.
