8. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your AVATTO WT81 thermostat, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the thermostat's screen and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the display or casing.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ensure that the thermostat's ventilation openings (if any) are not blocked by furniture, curtains, or other objects, as this can affect temperature readings.
  • Environmental Conditions: Do not expose the thermostat to direct sunlight, excessive humidity, or extreme temperatures outside its operating range.

9. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your thermostat, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Thermostat not powering on: Check the main circuit breaker to ensure power is supplied to the heating system and thermostat. Verify all wiring connections are secure.
  • WiFi icon not flashing during setup: Ensure the thermostat is turned off, then press and hold the 'Up' and 'Down' buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to enter connection mode.
  • Unable to connect to APP: Confirm your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. Ensure the thermostat is in connection mode. Restart your router and try pairing again. Check app permissions on your smartphone.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings: Ensure the internal sensor is not obstructed. If using an external floor sensor, verify its connection and placement. Avoid placing the thermostat near heat sources or drafts.
  • Display color appears different: The thermostat features a glass mirror panel. Its color may appear to change slightly depending on the ambient lighting and environment. This is normal and not a defect.
  • Heating system not responding: Check the thermostat's mode (Manual/Auto) and set temperature. Verify the wiring connections to your heating system (boiler, floor heating) are correct and secure.

10. User Tips

  • Boiler Connection: For water/gas boiler systems, the 3A model of the WT81 thermostat utilizes a dry contact relay for connection. Ensure your boiler is compatible with this type of control.
  • Energy Saving: Make full use of the weekly programmable feature to set different temperatures for various times of the day and week, optimizing energy consumption when you are away or asleep.
  • Remote Access: Familiarize yourself with the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app to control your heating remotely, allowing you to adjust temperatures before arriving home or check settings while away.
