4. Installation
The GWS9 circuit breaker is designed for 35MM Din Rail installation.
Wiring Instructions:
IMPORTANT: Power must enter from the top and must be a live line + neutral (L+N). Incorrect wiring can damage the device or cause safety hazards.
- Ensure the main power supply is OFF before starting installation.
- Mount the GWS9 onto a 35MM Din Rail.
- Connect the Live (L) and Neutral (N) wires from the main power supply to the 'Power' terminals at the top of the device.
- Connect the load wires to the 'Load' terminals at the bottom of the device.
- Double-check all connections for tightness and correctness.
- Restore power to the main circuit.
5. Setup and App Pairing
Downloading the App:
Download the 'Tuya Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your mobile device's app store (Android/IOS).
Pairing the Device:
- Ensure your mobile device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The GWS9 does not support 5GHz networks.
- Open the Tuya/Smart Life app.
- Tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon to begin the pairing process.
- The app may automatically discover the device. If not, select 'Smart Meter' or 'Electrical' category and follow the in-app instructions.
- Enter your Wi-Fi network's SSID and password when prompted.
- Wait for the product to be successfully added. Once added, you can access the product settings page within the app.

6. Operating Instructions
Remote Control:
Once paired, you can remotely turn the circuit breaker ON or OFF using the Tuya/Smart Life app from anywhere with an internet connection.
Energy Monitoring:
The app provides real-time data on:
- Voltage
- Current
- Temperature
- Peak Power
- Total Consumption
- Balance Energy
Timer Switch:
Set schedules within the app for the circuit breaker to automatically turn ON or OFF at specified times. This is useful for automating lighting, appliances, or other electrical loads.
Protection Functions:
The GWS9 offers various adjustable protection settings:
- Over-Voltage Protection: Set a maximum voltage threshold. If the voltage exceeds this, the device will trip.
- Under-Voltage Protection: Set a minimum voltage threshold. If the voltage drops below this, the device will trip. (Demonstrated in Video 1)
- Overload Protection (Current Limit): Configure the maximum allowable current. Exceeding this limit will cause the device to trip.
- Over Power Protection: Set a maximum power consumption limit.

8. Troubleshooting
Device not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. 5GHz networks are not supported.
- Verify the Wi-Fi password entered in the app is correct.
- Make sure the device is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Try resetting the device and re-initiating the pairing process.
Device tripping unexpectedly:
- Check the current, voltage, and power consumption of the connected load via the app. Ensure it is within the configured limits for overload, overvoltage, undervoltage, and over power protection.
- Adjust the protection thresholds in the app if necessary, ensuring they are appropriate for your electrical system and connected devices.
- Inspect the wiring for any short circuits or loose connections.
Device not responding to app commands:
- Check your mobile device's internet connection.
