2.1 WPS Function
The router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) for easy connection of WPS-compatible devices without entering the Wi-Fi password. Press the WPS button on the router to initiate a WPS connection.
3. Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: The Huawei AI Life App may offer options for automatic or manual firmware updates. Keeping your router's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features.
- Network Optimization: Regularly use the "Optimise Your Network" feature in the AI Life App to detect and resolve potential network issues.
- Physical Care: Keep the router in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
4. Troubleshooting
- No Internet Connection:
- Check if the power adapter is securely connected and the router is powered on.
- Verify the network cable connection between the router and your modem.
- Use the "Optimise Your Network" feature in the Huawei AI Life App for diagnosis.
- Restart both your modem and the router.
- Weak Wi-Fi Signal or Poor Coverage:
- Ensure the router's antennas are positioned correctly (extended vertically).
- Relocate the router to a central location in your home, away from obstructions and interference sources (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
- Utilize the "Visualized Wi-Fi Diagnosis" in the AI Life App to identify weak signal areas.
- Consider using Huawei Mesh features if you have multiple compatible routers.
- Forgotten Wi-Fi Password:
- You can retrieve or change the Wi-Fi password via the Huawei AI Life App.
- If you cannot access the app, you may need to reset the router to factory settings (see below).
- Router Not Responding / Factory Reset:
- If the router is unresponsive, use a pin or paperclip to press and hold the 'Reset' button (located in a small hole on the back) for approximately 10 seconds until the indicator lights change. This will restore the router to its factory default settings, and you will need to reconfigure it using the AI Life App.

7. User Tips
- Router vs. Modem: This device is a Wi-Fi router, not a modem with a SIM card slot. It requires a separate modem (e.g., fiber modem) to connect to the internet via a network cable.
- Optimal Placement: For the best Wi-Fi coverage, place the router in a central, open location in your home, away from large metal objects or other electronic devices that might cause interference.
- Leverage the AI Life App: The Huawei AI Life App is a powerful tool for managing your network. Use it for easy setup, parental controls, guest Wi-Fi, and network diagnostics.
- Mesh Networking: If you have a larger home or experience dead zones, consider adding another compatible Huawei router to create a Mesh Wi-Fi system for seamless coverage.
