8. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your EVICIV portable monitor, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or alcohol-based solutions, as these can damage the screen coating.
- Cleaning the Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monitor's body.
- Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in a cool, dry place. Use the provided smart cover to protect the screen from scratches and dust.
- Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the monitor to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
- Handle with Care: Avoid dropping or subjecting the monitor to strong impacts.
9. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your monitor, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Screen Signal Poor or Flickers:
Ensure you are using the power adapter that came with the monitor. Other adapters may not provide sufficient voltage. If the issue persists, try swapping the HDMI cable. - No Signal or Power Saving Mode Appears:
If using a Type-C connection, try switching the Type-C cable head to the other side and reconnecting it to the monitor. Ensure your device's Type-C port supports audio and video signal transmission (Thunderbolt 3 or DisplayPort Alternate Mode). If not, you will need a "Type-C to HDMI" adapter for signal transmission. - Touch Function Not Working:
For Windows PCs/laptops connected via HDMI, ensure the USB-A to USB-C cable is connected from your laptop's USB-A port to the monitor's full-featured USB Type-C port to activate touch. For mobile devices, verify if your phone model is listed as supporting USB 3.1 for touch functionality. Some devices (e.g., iPhone, iPad, gaming consoles) do not support touch with this monitor. - Monitor Does Not Turn On:
Ensure the monitor is properly connected to the power adapter and the adapter is plugged into a working power outlet. The monitor does not have a built-in battery and requires continuous external power. - No Audio:
Check the volume settings on both the monitor and your connected device. Ensure the audio output is correctly routed to the monitor. If using external speakers or headphones, ensure they are properly connected to the 3.5mm AUX port.
10. User Tips
- Optimal Power: Always use the provided power adapter for the most stable performance, especially when connecting via HDMI or if your device cannot supply enough power via USB-C.
- Desktop Mode for Phones: For compatible smartphones, utilize desktop mode (e.g., Samsung DeX) to transform your phone into a PC-like experience on the monitor.
- Smart Cover Versatility: The smart cover can be folded into various positions to serve as a stable stand, allowing for different viewing angles and orientations.
- Eye Care: Take advantage of the monitor's blue light filtering and flicker-free technology to reduce eye strain during extended use.
