Installation Guide

1. Inserting the Memory Card

Before using the dash cam, a memory card (sold separately) must be installed. The dash cam supports standard MicroSD cards with a capacity of 32GB-512GB and a rating of U3 (UHS-3) or above. The default file partition format of the memory card may be inconsistent with the format supported by the dash cam. When inserting the memory card for the first time, please format it in the dash cam before use. Formatting the memory card will delete all files on the card. Please back up important data to another device beforehand.

  • Insert the memory card into the card slot until it clicks into place.
  • Do not insert or remove a memory card while the dash cam is turned on.

2. Attaching the Electrostatic Sticker

Paste the electrostatic sticker on the recommended area on the front windshield. Press the sticker firmly to squeeze out any air bubbles.

  • Avoid the edge of the windshield and select a flat and smooth area for installation.
  • Keep the windshield clean and dry without liquid residue to prevent the sticker from losing adhesion and the dash cam from dropping.

3. Installing the Mount

Align the mount to the slot on the back of the dash cam and slide it up until it locks securely.

4. Mounting the Dash Cam

Remove the release liner from the mount and firmly attach the dash cam (with the mount) to the electrostatic sticker on the windshield.

5. Routing the Power Cord

Route the power cord to the car's cigarette lighter socket and connect the dash cam to power. Use the included wiring trim tool to hide the power cord underneath the vehicle's headliner and rubber seal along the A-pillar for a neat installation.

  • Depending on the vehicle, the cigarette lighter socket may be located in a different position.
  • Please use the included car charger, power cord, and other accessories to avoid product failure due to non-conformance.

6. Adjusting the Camera Angle

Turn on the dash cam and adjust the lens angle based on the live preview on the screen to ensure optimal recording coverage.

7. Rear Camera Installation (Optional)

If you purchased the Dash Cam Set with a rear camera (RC22), install it on the rear windshield. The rear recording function is only available with the rear camera installed. Scan the QR code on page 8 of the PDF manual for the user guide of the rear camera.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

The dash cam will automatically power on and start recording when connected to the car's power supply. To manually power on/off, press and hold the power button.

2. 4K UHD Recording with HDR

The 70mai A800SE captures video in true 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) at 30 frames per second (FPS) with HDR (High Dynamic Range). This ensures exceptional clarity, capturing fine details like license plates and road signs even in challenging lighting conditions.

3. Dual-Channel Recording (with optional RC22 Rear Camera)

When paired with the optional RC22 rear camera, the 4K A800SE supports simultaneous dual-channel recording: 4K 30FPS for the front and 1080P 30FPS for the rear. This provides comprehensive coverage, capturing incidents from both the front and rear of your vehicle.

4. Super Night Vision

The 4K A800SE utilizes a self-developed algorithm and a large F1.55 aperture lens (2G4P + IR Optical Lens) to deliver superior night vision. This technology enhances image clarity, reduces noise, and improves contrast in low-light conditions, ensuring bright and sharp footage at night.

5. Buffered Emergency Recording

The upgraded pre-recording feature captures crucial footage up to 3 minutes before and 30 seconds after an event. These clips are saved in an exclusive "Emergency video" folder, preventing them from being overwritten by regular loop recordings and helping to protect against insurance fraud and false accusations.

Figure: Buffered Emergency Recording

6. Loop Recording

The 4K A800SE records in a continuous loop, automatically overwriting older files with new recordings once the memory card is full. This ensures uninterrupted footage without storage concerns, as critical footage (emergency recordings and parking surveillance videos) is saved in separate folders and will loop independently to prevent accidental overwriting.

7. Built-in GPS

The dash cam features built-in GPS supporting five satellite systems: BDS, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS. This enhances positioning accuracy and coverage, recording driving routes, speed, and location. All data is easily accessible via the 70mai App.

8. Super-Sensing ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems)

The ADAS system provides advanced warnings to help avoid traffic safety risks. Features include:

  • Lane Departure Alert: Warns if the vehicle drifts out of its lane.
  • Forward Collision Alert: Alerts when approaching a vehicle too quickly.
  • Forward Vehicle Start Alert: Notifies when the vehicle in front moves.
  • Pedestrians Alert: Detects pedestrians in the path.
  • Cyclists Alert: Detects cyclists in the path.

9. 24/7 Smart Parking Surveillance

The dash cam offers continuous parking protection. If the built-in G-Sensor detects a collision while your car is parked, it automatically triggers a 30-second recording. For extended parking surveillance, the 70mai Hardwire Kit UP03 (sold separately) is required.

10. Supercapacitor Technology

The 70mai A800SE is powered by a supercapacitor, offering enhanced safety and reliability, especially in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F). Unlike traditional batteries, supercapacitors provide a longer lifespan (up to 500,000 charge cycles) and ensure videos are automatically saved even during power loss, offering continuous protection and peace of mind. It's also an eco-friendly choice.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your 70mai 4K A800SE Dash Cam, please refer to the following common solutions:

Q: Is the camera original?
A: To ensure authenticity and quality, always purchase your 70mai dash cam from authorized retailers or the official store.
Q: Does it come with an OBD connection?
A: The 70mai 4K A800SE Dash Cam is powered via the car's cigarette lighter socket using the provided car charger and power cord. An OBD connection is not included or required for standard operation. For 24/7 parking surveillance, the 70mai Hardwire Kit UP03 (sold separately) is used to connect directly to the car's fuse box, not the OBD port.
Q: The dash cam is not turning on.
A: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the dash cam and the car's cigarette lighter socket. Check if the car's power outlet is functioning. If using the hardwire kit, ensure it is correctly installed and receiving power.
Q: Video quality is poor or blurry.
A: Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lens. Clean the lens and the windshield area where the camera is mounted. Check if the camera angle is correctly adjusted. Verify that you are using a high-quality MicroSD card (U3 or above).
Q: Memory card errors.
A: Format the memory card within the dash cam's settings. If the issue persists, try using a different high-quality MicroSD card (32GB-512GB, U3 or above) from a reputable brand.
