Setup Instructions
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the amplifier from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement
The Lane S-21000 is designed for rack mounting (3U size). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not block the air vents on the front or rear panels. Place the amplifier on a stable, level surface or mount it securely in a standard equipment rack using the provided rack mounting holes.
Figure 1: Front and Rear Panel Layout with Key/Interface Descriptions. This diagram shows the front panel with volume controls, power switch, and indicators, and the rear panel with various audio input/output interfaces and power outlets.
3. Audio Connections
Refer to Figure 1 for the location of all input and output interfaces.
Audio Inputs: Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, pre-amplifier) to the A audio input interface and B audio input interface using appropriate cables (XLR or TRS).
Audio Outputs: Connect your speakers to the amplifier using the following outputs:
A Power Output Interface: For Channel A speakers.
L Speaker Output Interface: For Left channel speakers.
R Speaker Output Interface: For Right channel speakers.
Terminal Output Interface: For bare wire speaker connections.
Serial Interfaces: Use the A audio serial interface and B audio serial interface for daisy-chaining multiple amplifiers or other audio equipment.
4. Power Connection
Connect the amplifier to a suitable AC power outlet using the provided power cable. Ensure the power switch on the front panel is in the OFF position before connecting to power.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On/Off
Ensure all connections are secure and volume controls are set to minimum.
Press the Power switch on the front panel to turn on the amplifier. The Power indicator will illuminate.
Upon startup, the amplifier will activate a high wind speed dust removal function for approximately 3 seconds.
To power off, press the Power switch again.
2. Adjusting Volume and Sensitivity
Volume Control: Use the CHA volume control and CHB volume control knobs on the front panel to adjust the output level for each channel.
Sensitivity Adjustment: The rear panel features a three-gear sensitivity adjustment. Select the appropriate sensitivity setting based on your audio source's output level to achieve optimal signal-to-noise ratio without distortion.
3. Understanding Indicators and Display
The front panel features several indicators and a display screen to monitor the amplifier's status:
Display Screen: Shows real-time gain and temperature, providing a clear overview of the amplifier's operational status.
Signal Indicator: Illuminates when an audio signal is present.
Distortion Lamp: Lights up if the audio signal is clipping or distorting. Reduce the input level or volume if this indicator is active.
Protection Indicator: Illuminates if a protection circuit is activated (e.g., due to overload, overheating, short circuit). Refer to the Troubleshooting section if this occurs.
Power Indicator: Shows that the unit is powered on.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the amplifier with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or internal components. Ensure the ventilation grilles are free from dust and debris to maintain optimal airflow.
2. Dust Management
The amplifier features an automatic high wind speed dust removal function upon startup. This helps to keep internal components clean. For environments with excessive dust, consider using compressed air to gently clear dust from the vents periodically while the unit is powered off and unplugged.
3. Ventilation
Ensure the amplifier has sufficient space for proper ventilation. Do not place it in an enclosed cabinet without adequate airflow. The dual cooling system with silent fans is designed for efficient heat dissipation, but proper ambient conditions are crucial for longevity.
Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause
Solution
No Power
Power cable disconnected; Power switch off; No power from outlet.
Check power cable connection; Ensure power switch is ON; Test power outlet.
No Sound Output
Incorrect audio connections; Volume too low; Muted source; Speaker issues.
Verify all audio input/output connections; Increase CHA/CHB volume; Check audio source and speakers.
Distortion Lamp On / Distorted Sound
Input signal too high; Amplifier overloaded; Speaker impedance mismatch.
Reduce input signal level from source; Lower amplifier volume; Check speaker impedance against amplifier specifications.
Protection Indicator On
Overheating; Overload; Short circuit in speaker wiring; DC offset.
Turn off amplifier, allow to cool; Check speaker wiring for shorts; Reduce load; If problem persists, contact support.
Excessive Noise/Hum
