5. Installation

5.1 Connector Pin Pictures

Before purchasing or installing, please ensure the original car's interface matches the provided pictures. If the connector pins do not match, a separate adapter may be required. Professional installation is highly recommended.

5.2 Radio Antenna Adapter

The unit comes with a single head radio antenna adapter by default. If your VW/Skoda/Seat/AUDI vehicle has a double fakra radio antenna socket, you will need to purchase a PJ-AT2 Aftermarket Radio Stereo Aerial Adaptor Cable Y-Antenna Adaptor Double Fakra Plug Cable separately.

6. Basic Operation

6.1 Power On/Off

The radio will power on automatically when the car's ACC is powered on and will access the main UI after displaying the start logo. It will power off automatically when the car key is removed.

6.2 Reset (RST)

To reset the system, use a small, pointed object to press the RST hole located on the radio's front panel. The system will restart after the reset.

6.3 Touch Screen Operations

  • Click/Click and Hold: Short click to select an icon or option. Long click to perform corresponding operations like removing or deleting an app icon.
  • Slip: Use your finger to slide the touch screen left, right, up, or down to navigate or check lists (e.g., music display list).
  • Zoom: When viewing webpages, use two fingers to spread (zoom in) or merge (zoom out) on the screen.

6.4 Program Switching

  • Radio, music, video, and Bluetooth music cannot operate simultaneously.
  • Radio, music, video, and Bluetooth music can operate concurrently with GPS navigation. The volume of audio will automatically decrease during GPS broadcasts.

6.5 Functional Applications (Main UI)

From the main UI, you can click on the corresponding icon to access its function. On non-main UIs, click the home icon to return to the main UI. The app icon interface allows you to slide left/right, long-click to remove/delete icons, or click to access their functions.

6.6 Status Bar

The status bar displays common buttons (Main interface, Back, Recent tasks, show time) and function status notices (e.g., Bluetooth icon, mute icon).

6.7 Recent Tasks

Click the recent tasks icon to view all recently used applications. Click the 'Clear all' icon to close all opened apps.

7.2 DSP AKM AK7738

QS6-QS8 series models utilize the AKM AK7738 DSP chip for enhanced audio processing. This includes 32 Band EQ, Sound Field, 5.1 Channel Settings, Dynamic Digital Bass, and Horn Delay settings.

7.3 32 Band EQ

The 32-band EQ allows for multiple storage of custom EQ settings, with 32 adjustment levers covering a treble range of 20Hz to 20KHz for detailed sound customization.

7.9 Optical/Coaxial Output

QS6-QS8 series models are equipped with fiber optic and coaxial capabilities for high-quality audio output. Refer to the configuration table for specific details.

8. Connectivity

8.1 Network Connection

  • 2.4G & 5G WiFi: Supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi for optimal internet connectivity.
  • Bluetooth Tethering: Use Bluetooth tethering for low-bandwidth applications like weather widgets or music streaming to save power compared to WiFi hotspots.
  • USB Network Tethering: An exclusive feature allowing internet access via USB cable, using your phone's WiFi hotspot, and even providing a slight charge to your phone.
  • 4G SIM Card Network: Insert a 4G SIM card into the dedicated slot for 4G network functionality. (Note: QS1 models do not support 4G functionality). CloudSIM service is also available, offering 10GB of free traffic for the first month.

8.2 Bluetooth 5.4

The new generation Bluetooth 5.4 offers stable and efficient transmission, lower power consumption, and optimized decoding algorithms for clearer car music and phone calls. It provides more than 8 times better performance with 8x transmission capacity, 6x transmission distance, and 2x transmission depth. Latency is as low as 60ms, and power consumption is reduced by 50%.

8.3 USB Ports

The unit supports up to three USB 2.0 ports, compatible with most original car functions, for high-speed data transfer. It can connect USB flash drives, DVRs, DAB+, and TPMS simultaneously (maximum 2TB compatibility).

8.4 Carplay and Android Auto

Use voice control for music playback, map navigation, calls, and messaging. The CarPlay/Android Auto feature allows you to sync photos and music from your phone. While driving, you can use CarPlay or Android Auto for calls, messages, and music.

10. Driving Assistance Systems

10.1 360° Panoramic Camera (Optional)

The 1080P AHD 360° Panoramic Camera provides automatic video recording during driving. It allows switching to a 360 panoramic display for navigating complex road conditions. Only QS8 models support this feature.

10.2 Easy 360-Degree Panoramic Driving Image Installation

The 360 panoramic camera features auto-calibration, allowing parameter settings directly on the machine without calibration paper or other tools. The dual left and right cameras are portable, eliminating the need for drilling or removing door panels during installation. Only QS8 models support this feature.

10.3 Rear View System AHD 1080P (Optional)

This reversing camera system supports up to 1920*1080 pixel display, eliminating blind spots and allowing the driver to see hazards while backing up. The reversing track can be adjusted. The system offers clear imaging with high-efficiency sensors, providing transparent details at a glance.

10.4 ADAS DVR AHD 1080P (Optional)

The ADAS DVR supports video loop recording, automatically overwriting older videos when the card is full, except for locked emergency videos. It includes Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Frontal Collision Warning System (FCWS), and Front Start Warning System (FSWS).

This feature requires a 1080P version of the DVR and a host computer with a 4G version. It includes:

  • Vehicle Tracking: View your vehicle's track at a specific time on your phone.
  • Parking Location: Easily find your vehicle by viewing its location on your phone. Set up an electronic fence to receive alerts if your vehicle leaves a defined range.
  • AI Security: See what's happening around your vehicle. Take photos of the vehicle scene via the DVR when the unit is turned on.

10.6 TPMS Function (Optional)

12. Troubleshooting

13. System Updates

13.1 System Upgrade

To upgrade the system:

  1. Name the Android upgrade file "update.zip" and place it in the root directory of a USB disk. Insert the USB disk into the USB cable on the back of the unit.
  2. Access "Car Settings" > "General", then select "System Upgrade".
  3. Click "upgrade file" to start the system upgrade process. The system will restart and take some time to complete. Please be patient.

Note: During the upgrade process, do not power off or perform other operations.

13.2 MCU Upgrade

To upgrade the MCU:

  1. Name the MCU upgrade file "mcu.bin" and place it in the root directory of a USB disk. Insert the USB disk into the USB cable on the back of the unit.
  2. Access "Car Settings" > "General", then select "MCU upgrade".
  3. Click "upgrade file" to confirm and start the MCU upgrade process. The system will restart after the upgrade is complete. Please be patient.

Note: During the upgrade process, do not power off or perform other operations.

14. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, ensure all cables are securely connected during installation.
  • If experiencing network issues, double-check SIM card installation and 4G plan status.
  • Regularly check for system updates to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes.
  • When using voice control, speak clearly and ensure the microphone is not obstructed.
