3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Package Contents

  • 1 x Aqara N100 Door Lock

3.2 Installation Conditions and Measurement

The installation of the door lock requires professional tools and expertise. It is highly recommended to hire professional personnel for installation.

3.3 Initial Setup

  1. Install Batteries: Open the battery cover and insert 8 AA batteries. (Using original batteries is recommended to prevent damage from leakage during long-term use.)
  2. Reset the Lock: Long press the reset button for 5 seconds. Release it after hearing a voice prompt. The reset is complete. Note: After a successful reset, there will be no users, and the door lock cannot be properly locked. Please complete the lock setup as soon as possible.

3.4 App Connection

3.4.1 Connect to Mi Home App

The Aqara N100 is compatible with the Mi Home App for control and smart home integration.

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the original user manual (or search "Mi Home" in your app store) to download and install the Mi Home App.
  2. Open the Mi Home App, click "+" in the upper right corner of the homepage, and follow the app's instructions to add the device.

Tip: After the door lock is successfully added, it will automatically connect to the Bluetooth gateway device under your account. No additional configuration is needed. The effective Bluetooth communication range is 10m, but obstacles like walls may affect this range.

Note: Due to updates in the Mi Home App, actual operations may vary slightly. Please follow the current in-app guidance.

3.4.2 Add User

Once connected to the app, enter the door lock device page and follow the app's prompts to add the first user (defaulting to administrator). Note: The door lock cannot be properly locked if no users are added.

3.4.3 HomeKit Connection (for iOS users)

For Apple HomeKit integration:

  1. Open the Apple "Home" App.
  2. Click "+" in the upper right corner of the page and select "Add Accessory".
  3. Scan or manually enter the HomeKit setup code found on the back cover or bottom of the door lock (please keep this code safe).
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the addition.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Unlocking Methods

  • Fingerprint Unlock: Gently place a registered finger on the fingerprint recognition area. After successful verification, press down the handle to unlock.
  • Password Unlock: Enter your registered password and press the confirm button. After successful verification, press down the handle to unlock.
  • Temporary Password: Generate temporary passwords via the app for guests or one-time access.
  • NFC Unlock: Place a registered NFC device near the recognition area. After successful verification, press down the handle to unlock.
  • Bluetooth Unlock: Unlock via the Mi Home or Apple HomeKit app on your smartphone when within Bluetooth range.
  • HomeKit Unlock: Unlock using the Apple Home app or Siri commands.
  • Emergency Key Unlock: Press the cover plate below the handle to pop it open, then insert and rotate the mechanical key to unlock. Caution: Do not store the emergency key inside the house. Keep it in a safe, accessible location for extreme situations.

Verification Feedback:

  • Success: The indicator light ring breathes white, accompanied by a success sound effect (if not muted).
  • Failure: The indicator light ring flashes red, accompanied by a failure sound effect (if not muted).

4.2 Locking Methods

  • Automatic Locking: The lock will automatically engage after the door is closed.
  • Manual Locking (Indoor/Outdoor): After closing the door, lift the handle upwards to engage the deadbolt.
  • Indoor Deadbolt: Rotate the inner knob 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise to engage the deadbolt. Rotate 90 degrees in the opposite direction to disengage.

4.3 Local Settings Mode

If phone app access is inconvenient, you can adjust certain settings directly on the lock:

  1. Short press the "Settings" button under the battery cover.
  2. Verify with an administrator fingerprint or password.
  3. You can then:
    • Add/delete regular users.
    • Adjust door lock volume.
    • Set door lock voice language (supports Chinese/English).

Tip: To enter local settings mode, you must have already added the door lock and users via the Mi Home App.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

The lock will provide a low battery reminder (visual and/or audible). Replace all 8 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Use high-quality, non-leaking batteries.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, which can damage the finish or electronic components.

5.3 Firmware Updates

Regularly check the Mi Home or Apple Home app for available firmware updates. Updates can improve performance, add features, and enhance security.
