3.1 Measurement Modes
Below are instructions for common measurement functions:
DC Current Measurement (DCA)
To measure DC current, switch the function turntable to the appropriate DCA gear (e.g., 2mA, 10A). The multimeter must be connected in series with the circuit. For current measurements, the red dial pen is plugged into the DCA current jack of the multimeter.

Important: Current must be measured in series to the circuit.
DC Voltage Measurement (DCV)
Switch the function turntable to the DCV gear (e.g., 200mV - 1000V). Connect the red probe to the positive (+) terminal and the black probe to the negative (-) terminal of the component or power source you are measuring.
AC Voltage Measurement (ACV)
Switch the function turntable to the ACV gear (0V-750V). Connect the probes to the AC voltage source. Note: There may be a slight delay in measurement, which does not affect the accuracy of the numerical values.

Resistance Measurement (Ω)
Switch the function turntable to the Resistance gear (0Ω-2000kΩ). Contact both sides of the resistance with the test leads.
Diode Test
Switch the function turntable to the Diode gear. The test leads contact the positive and negative electrodes of the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop.
Buzzer (Continuity) Test
Switch the function turntable to the Buzzer gear. The test buzzes on and off, and the buzzer sounds to indicate normal patency (continuity).
Square Wave Output
Switch the function turntable to the Square Wave gear. Connect the square wave device as shown in the figure, connect the device with a multimeter, and test the signal.
hFE Triode Test
Switch the function turntable to the hFE transistor gear. Insert the transistor into the corresponding slots, ensuring it is of PNP or NPN type.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your ANENG SZ308 Digital Multimeter, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the multimeter. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery promptly when the low battery indication appears on the LCD screen to ensure accurate readings and proper operation.
- Calibration: For professional use or if you suspect inaccuracies, periodic calibration by a qualified technician is recommended.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:
- Display shows "1" or "OL": This typically indicates an over-range condition. The measured value exceeds the selected range. Try switching to a higher range setting.
- No display or faint display: Check the battery. It might be dead or low. Replace the 9V battery if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure the test leads are properly inserted into the correct ports for the selected measurement function. Check the battery level. If the issue persists, the multimeter may require calibration.
- No continuity sound during buzzer test: Ensure the circuit is complete and the components are not open. Check the test leads for damage.
7. User Tips
- Always start with the highest range setting when measuring an unknown value to prevent damage to the multimeter.
- Double-check your connections before applying power or taking a measurement, especially when measuring current.
- Keep the multimeter and test leads clean and free from dust and debris.
- Avoid dropping the multimeter or subjecting it to strong impacts, as this can affect its internal components and accuracy.
