Front Panel:

  • LCD Display: Shows frequency, time, mode, and other indicators.
  • Power Button (⑁): Turns the radio on/off.
  • SOURCE Button: Switches between AM, FM, and AUX modes.

4. Setup

4.1 Powering the Radio

The MUSE M-091 R can be powered by either AC power or batteries.

AC Power:

  1. Ensure the radio is turned off.
  2. Insert one end of the supplied AC power cable into the AC power input on the rear of the radio.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cable into a standard wall outlet.

Battery Power:

  1. Ensure the radio is turned off.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover located on the rear of the radio.
  3. Insert 4 x 'D' size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and damage.

4.2 Antenna Adjustment

  • FM Reception: Extend the telescopic antenna fully and adjust its angle and direction for optimal FM reception.
  • AM Reception: The radio has a built-in AM ferrite bar antenna. For best AM reception, rotate the entire radio until the signal is clear.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Turning On/Off

  • Press the Power Button (⑁) to turn the radio on.
  • Press the Power Button (⑁) again to turn the radio off.

5.2 Selecting Source Mode

  • Press the SOURCE button repeatedly to cycle through available modes: FM, AM, AUX. The selected mode will be displayed on the LCD.

5.3 Radio Tuning (FM/AM)

Manual Tuning:

  1. Select either FM or AM mode using the SOURCE button.
  2. Rotate the Tuning Knob to manually adjust the frequency. The frequency will change on the LCD display.

Automatic Scan Tuning:

  1. Select either FM or AM mode using the SOURCE button.
  2. Press and hold the Tuning/Set Buttons (◀/►) for a few seconds. The radio will automatically scan for the next available strong station and stop.

5.4 Storing and Recalling Preset Stations

To Store a Station:

  1. Tune to your desired FM or AM station.
  2. Press and hold one of the Preset Buttons (1-5) for a few seconds until the display confirms the station has been saved (e.g., 'P1' flashes).
  3. Repeat for other desired stations.

To Recall a Station:

  • Briefly press the corresponding Preset Button (1-5) to instantly tune to the saved station.

5.5 Adjusting Volume

  • Rotate the Volume Knob clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.

5.6 Using the AUX Input

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX In Jack on the side of the radio.
  2. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external audio device (e.g., smartphone, MP3 player).
  3. Press the SOURCE button until 'AUX' is displayed on the LCD.
  4. Play audio from your external device. The sound will be output through the radio's speaker.

5.7 Using Headphones

  • Plug any standard 3.5mm headphones (not included) into the Headphone Jack on the side of the radio. The internal speaker will automatically mute.

5.8 Setting Alarm and Snooze

The MUSE M-091 R features an alarm function. Consult the full manual for detailed alarm setting instructions, typically involving pressing and holding the 'SET' or 'ALARM' button (often combined with Tuning/Set buttons) to enter alarm setup mode, then using the tuning buttons to adjust time and confirm.

  • When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence it for a short period.
  • To turn off the alarm completely, press the Power Button (⑁).

  • Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, dry cloth.
