Important Note: There are different LCD Display protocols on various brands of e-bikes. Before purchasing or installing, please ensure the YL81C display protocol (e.g., YL-01, YL-02, 5s, KDS, J, Octagon) is compatible with your e-bike's controller. Incompatibility may lead to the display not functioning correctly with your e-bike.

3. Setup
3.1 Mounting the Display
- Identify a suitable position on your e-bike's handlebar (Φ22.2mm diameter) for the display.
- Open the display clamp and position it securely on the handlebar.
- Tighten the clamp screws to ensure the display is firmly mounted and does not rotate during riding.
3.2 Wiring Connection
The YL81C display uses a 5-pin waterproof connector for connection to the e-bike controller. Ensure the power is off before making any connections.

The standard wiring sequence for the 5-pin connector is as follows:

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Button Definitions
The YL81C display features three buttons on its operating unit:
- Power Button (top): Used for power on/off and menu transitions.
- Plus Button (+): Used to increase values, switch assist levels, or navigate menus.
- Minus Button (-): Used to decrease values, switch assist levels, or navigate menus.

4.2 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. The display will activate, and power will be supplied to the controller.
- To Power Off: In the power-on state, press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds. Your e-bike will power off.
- Automatic Power Off: If the e-bike is not used for more than 10 minutes, the display will automatically power off to conserve battery.
4.3 Display Interface and Functions
Upon power-on, the display defaults to showing real-time speed (km/h) and trip distance (km).
The display provides the following indicators and functions:
- Battery Level Indicator: Shows the remaining battery charge (five segments).
- Speed Indicator: Displays real-time speed, maximum speed (MAXS), and average speed (AVG).
- Assist Level Indicator: Shows the current pedal assist level (PAS).
- Headlight Indicator: Illuminates when headlights are on.
- Distance Indicator: Displays ODO (total odometer) and TRIP (current trip distance).
- Error Code Indicator: Shows error codes if a fault occurs.
- Bluetooth Connection Indicator: (Reserved for future functionality)
Switching Display Information: Press the Power button briefly to cycle through different information displays: Trip Distance (km), ODO (km), Maximum Speed (km/h), and Average Speed (km/h). Trip distance automatically resets to zero when it reaches 9999.9 km.
4.4 Push Assistance (Walk Mode)
- To Activate: Press and hold the Minus button. The display will show 'P'. Your e-bike will move at a constant speed of 6km/h.
- To Deactivate: Release the Minus button. The e-bike will stop, and the display will return to the previous state.
4.5 Headlight On/Off
- To Turn On: Press and hold the Plus button. The controller will activate the headlights, and the display backlight will dim.
- To Turn Off: Press and hold the Plus button again. The controller will turn off the headlights, and the display backlight will return to normal luminance.
4.6 Assist Level Selection
Press the Plus (+) or Minus (-) buttons briefly to switch between assist levels. Available assist level configurations include: 0-3, 1-3, 0-5, 1-5, 0-7, 1-7, 0-9, and 1-9, depending on your e-bike's settings.
4.7 Battery Level Indicator
The battery level is shown with five segments. When the battery is fully charged, all five segments are lit. If the battery voltage is low (undervoltage), the outline of the battery indicator will flash, signaling that the battery needs immediate charging.
5. Custom Settings
All custom parameters can only be set when your e-bike is stationary (speed of 0).
5.1 Entering Custom Settings
To enter the custom setting interface, press and hold both the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds.
5.2 Navigation and Parameter Adjustment
- Once in the custom setting interface, use the Plus (+) button to switch between different setting options (P1, P2, etc.).
- Press the Power button to enter the parameter modification interface for the selected option.
- Use the Plus (+) or Minus (-) buttons to select or adjust the parameter value.
- Press the Power button to save the parameter and return to the selection interface.
- To exit the custom setting interface, press and hold the Power button.
5.3 General Settings
- Trip Distance Reset: In the power-on state, with speed at 0, press and hold the Power and Minus buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to reset the trip distance.
- Factory Reset (dEF): In the power-on state, with speed at 0, press and hold the Power and Plus buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the factory reset interface. 'dEF-n' means not to restore, 'dEF-y' means to restore. Use the Plus (+) button to select, then Power to confirm.
5.4 Specific Custom Parameters (P1-P8)
- P1: Rated Voltage Setting
Available values: 36V, 48V. - P2: Wheel Diameter Setting
Adjustable range: 8-32 inches. - P3: Speed Limit Setting
Adjustable range: 10-40 km/h. - P4: Metric/Imperial System Setting
00 for metric system (km, km/h), 01 for imperial system (mile, MPH). - P5: Speed Sensor Setting
Set according to the number of magnetic heads on your e-bike's wheels. Adjustable range: 1-63. - P6: Current Limit Setting
Adjustable range: 1-25A. - P7: Assistance Sensor Setting
Set according to the number of steel magnets on the assistance magnetic disk. Adjustable range: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12. - P8: Power-on Password Setting
PSd-N (no password) or PSd-Y (password required). If PSd-Y is selected, you can set or change the password using the buttons.
6. Maintenance
- Safe Use: Do not plug or unplug the display while it is powered on.
- Physical Protection: Avoid bumping the display as much as possible to prevent damage.
- Parameter Integrity: Do not alter the background parameter settings of the display arbitrarily, as this may compromise normal riding functionality.
- Prompt Repair: If the display fails to work normally, it should be repaired as soon as possible by qualified personnel.
- Software Updates: Due to product upgrades, some displayed content or functions may differ from this manual. Always refer to the actual model.
7. Troubleshooting (Error Codes)
When a fault occurs in the e-bike's electronic control system, the display will automatically show an error code (e.g., E0**). Refer to the table below for definitions and conduct troubleshooting promptly. An active error code may prevent your e-bike from functioning normally.

8.1 Warranty Information

The warranty does not cover:
- If the enclosure is opened.
- If the connector is damaged.
- If the enclosure is scratched or damaged after delivery.
- If the outgoing line of the display is scratched or broken.
