5. Installation

The Arpha Smart Door Lock D180 is designed for easy installation. All you need is a screwdriver. Ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door Thickness: 35mm to 55mm (1-3/8 inches to 2-1/8 inches)
  • Backset: 60mm (2-3/8 inches) or 70mm (2-3/4 inches)

The lock automatically recognizes the direction of unlocking, making it suitable for both left and right-handed doors.

6. Setup and User Management

This section guides you through registering and managing user passwords for your smart lock.

6.1 Registering the First User (No existing users)

Follow these steps to set up the initial administrator password when no users are currently registered:

  1. Open the battery cover on the interior unit.
  2. Press the reset button for 2 seconds. You will hear a voice announcement.
  3. After the voice announcement, input a 6 to 10-digit password on the keypad, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).
  4. Enter the same password again, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).

6.2 Adding More Users

If you have already registered an administrator password, follow these steps to add additional user passwords:

  1. Open the battery cover on the interior unit.
  2. Press the reset button for 2 seconds.
  3. Enter the existing administrator password, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).
  4. Enter a new 6 to 10-digit password, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).
  5. Enter the new password again, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).

6.3 Deleting Users

To delete an existing user password:

  1. Press "666" on the keypad, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).
  2. Enter the administrator password, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).
  3. Enter the specific user password you wish to delete, followed by the unlock button (Unlock button icon).

7. Operating Instructions

7.1 Unlocking with a Password

To unlock the door using a registered password:

  1. Enter your 6 to 10-digit password on the keypad.
  2. Press the unlock button (Unlock button icon).

7.2 Anti-Peeping Password Function

To prevent others from guessing your password, you can use the anti-peeping feature:

  1. Enter any random digits (up to 12 digits).
  2. Enter your actual 4 to 8-digit password.
  3. Enter any random digits (up to 8 digits).
  4. Press the unlock button (Unlock button icon).

7.3 One-Touch Locking

To quickly lock the door from the outside:

  • Simply press the lock button on the keypad.

7.4 Automatic Locking

The lock can be configured to automatically lock after a set period (10-30 seconds) once the door is closed. Refer to the full product manual for detailed instructions on configuring this feature.

7.5 Emergency Power Supply

In case the batteries are completely depleted and the low battery alert was ignored, you can temporarily power the lock using a Type-C cable connected to an external power source (e.g., power bank). This will allow you to enter your code and unlock the door.

7.6 Mechanical Key Override

Use the provided backup mechanical keys to manually unlock the door in any emergency situation, such as battery failure or forgotten passwords.

8. Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: The lock requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Replace all batteries when the low battery alert is activated to ensure continuous operation.
  • Cleaning: Clean the keypad and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all mounting screws to ensure they are tight and the lock is securely fastened to the door.
