1. Product Overview and Button Introduction

Familiarize yourself with the physical components and controls of your ZAQE M505 Pro digital player.

Button Layout

• Volume +: Increase volume.
• Volume -: Decrease volume.
• Reset: Small pinhole for device reset.
• Power on/off: Power button.
• Home: Home button.
• Recording hole: Microphone for recording.
• 3.5mm output: Headphone jack.
• USB-C port: For charging and data transfer.
• Speaker: Audio output.
• TF card slot: For external memory expansion.

2. Setup and Basic Operation

Charging the Device

To ensure optimal battery life, use the provided USB Type-C charging cable and a 5V 1A/2A, 10W adapter. You can also charge the device via a computer's USB port. Do NOT use fast chargers above 30W, as this is strictly prohibited and can damage the battery.

Transferring Music and Media

1. Download Songs: Connect the player to your computer's USB port using a Type-C cable. Open the folder on your computer containing music files and the removable storage device folder that appears for the player. Drag and drop or copy/paste music files directly from your computer to the player's music storage folder.
2. Scan Songs: After transferring songs, open the HiBy Music app on the player to scan for new music. Once scanning is complete, you can play your music.
3. Create a Playlist: Within the HiBy Music app, you can create and manage playlists.

Connecting to Wi-Fi

Turn on WLAN (Wi-Fi) in the device settings. You can also swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and access Wi-Fi settings. Tap on the desired Wi-Fi network to connect. If the network is encrypted, you will need to enter the password.

Connecting to Bluetooth Devices

Turn on Bluetooth in the device settings. The player will automatically search for available devices. Select the desired Bluetooth device from the list and complete the pairing process.

Display Settings

• Brightness level: Adjust the screen brightness.
• Night light: Set a schedule for night light status and adjust its intensity.
• Simulate color space: Options include Disabled, Monochromacy.
• Wallpaper: Select from Gallery, Live Wallpapers, or other wallpapers.
• Sleep: Configure screen timeout (e.g., 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc.).
• Auto-rotate screen: Enable or disable automatic screen rotation.
• Font size: Adjust text size (Small, Default, Large, Largest).
• Display size: Adjust the overall display size (Small, Default, Large).

Sound Settings

Adjust media volume, notification volume, and alarm volume. You can also set the default alarm sound. Options for screen locking sound, charging sound, touch sounds, and sound enhancement are available.

Storage Management

View available and total internal storage space, SD card space, and app storage usage.

Security Settings

• Screen lock: Set a screen lock method (Swipe, Pattern, PIN, Password). If setting a PIN or password, remember to write it down.
• Passwords: Choose whether to make passwords visible.
• Encryption & Credential: Manage storage type, trusted credentials, user credentials, and installation from SD card.

Power Management

• Auto Shutdown: Set the device to never shut down automatically or to shut down after 5/10/15/20/30 minutes of inactivity.
• Schedule power on/off: Set specific times for the device to power on or off automatically.

System Settings

• Language & input: Configure languages and input methods.
• Keyboard & input methods: Select Gboard for preferred language input.
• Date & Time: Set device date and time.
• Reset options: Erase all data and reset to factory settings.
• About device: View detailed device information.

The ZAQE M505 Pro is a versatile digital player running on Android 9.0, offering a wide range of functionalities beyond just music playback.

Music Playback

The device supports HiFi sound quality and various audio formats including MP3, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WAV, WMA, and APE. Use the pre-installed music player or download your preferred music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, or Apple Music. Playback options include sequential play, loop single, list loop, and shuffle all.

Video Playback

The 4.0-inch HD 1080P full-touch display provides a stunning viewing experience. The player supports video formats such as RM, RMVB, FLV, MP4, DAT, MKV, MPG, MOV, and TS.

E-book Reading

The device supports E-book reading in TXT format. Utilize the touch screen for easy navigation through your digital books.

FM Radio and Recording

The ZAQE M505 Pro includes an FM radio function. It also supports audio recording in AMR format using the built-in recording hole (microphone).

Clock and Other Apps

The device features a clock function and, running on Android 9.0, allows for the installation and use of various Android applications from the Play Store, enhancing its versatility.

4. Maintenance

• Memory Management: Regularly clean up the player's memory and delete large applications or software that are not frequently used to maintain optimal performance. Avoid running multiple devices or apps in the background simultaneously.
• Battery Care: To prevent battery degradation, even if the device is not used for a long time, charge and discharge it once a month.
• Environmental Conditions: Avoid prolonged use in high-temperature environments or direct sunlight, as this can affect heat dissipation and device performance.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ZAQE M505 Pro.

1. Device becomes hot: It is normal for the device to heat up during use. If the temperature is excessively high or the device behaves abnormally, contact customer service.
2. Cannot recognize memory card: The device supports FAT, FAT32, and exFAT formats. After inserting the card, it may prompt you to format it. Choose to format the portable device.
3. No response to charging: Check if the issue is with the charging cable or the device itself. Avoid using adapters exceeding 5V/1A, 10W. If the device is faulty, contact customer service.
4. Charging not reaching 100%: Try pressing the reset hole (located below the volume button) with a pin for 5 seconds, then use the provided charging cable to connect to a computer for charging. The device should start after charging for one hour. If it still doesn't turn on, contact customer service.
5. Battery drains quickly: Close unnecessary background applications and ensure you are using the correct charging device (5V 1A/2A, 10W adapter) to extend battery life. Super-fast charging is prohibited.
6. Unable to connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure the device's Wi-Fi switch is on. Wi-Fi stability is affected by factors like distance and router signal. Try connecting to a mobile phone hotspot first. Note that the player cannot connect to guest Wi-Fi networks that require data network login.
7. Unable to connect to Bluetooth: Verify the device's Bluetooth switch is on. The connected device can only disconnect from other devices. The player's Bluetooth version is 4.3; ensure compatibility with your other devices.
8. Player runs slowly or freezes: Regularly clean the player's memory and delete large, unused applications. Avoid running multiple apps in the background.
9. Device keeps shutting down: Check if the automatic power on/off setting is set to "Never" in the device settings.
10. Cannot enter home screen after reset: If the device doesn't enter the home screen normally after a reset, click the four corners (upper-left, upper-right, lower-right, lower-left) in sequence on the language initial interface, or press the power button ten times in a row.
11. Forgot password: If you forget the device password, contact customer service to obtain the universal unlock password (to protect your privacy and security).
