3. Setup
3.1. Inserting the MicroSD Card
The RunCam 5 Orange supports microSD cards up to 128GB. For optimal performance, especially with 2.7K50/2.7K60/1080P120 resolutions, a Samsung U3 card or equivalent (U3 or above) is recommended. For other resolutions, a U1 card or above is sufficient.
Important: Ensure the microSD card is formatted to FAT32. Incorrect formatting can lead to errors during operation.
3.2. Mounting the Camera
The RunCam 5 Orange has dimensions of 38x38x36mm, making it compatible with most existing 3D printed TPU mounts and brackets available on the market. Securely attach the camera to your drone or vehicle using an appropriate mount.

3.3. Powering the Camera
The camera requires a USB power input of DC 5-15V. Connect the camera to a suitable power source using the provided Micro-USB cable.

4.1. Recording Video
The RunCam 5 Orange is capable of recording 4K video at 30 frames per second (fps) for up to 105 minutes, which is over 40% longer than similar cameras. Recording time for other resolutions also shows significant improvement.

4.2. Adjusting Camera Settings (QR Codes)
You can easily change camera settings such as resolution, saturation, and exposure by generating QR codes through the official RunCam App. Simply scan the generated QR code with the camera to apply the desired settings.

4.3. NTSC / PAL Switching
The RunCam 5 Orange supports NTSC / PAL switching. This setting can typically be adjusted via the RunCam App using the QR code method described above, or through specific button combinations if available (refer to the app for detailed instructions).

5.1. Durability and Care
The RunCam 5 Orange is built with a Germany brand high-intensity PC case and features 3rd generation Corning Gorilla glass for enhanced durability. Lab tests show the camera survived over 120 drops from a 1.8-meter height.
- Keep the lens clean using a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Ensure the microSD card slot is free from dust and debris.

5.2. MicroSD Card Maintenance
Regularly back up your footage and format the microSD card to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Always ensure the card is formatted to FAT32.

6.1. SD Card Errors
If you encounter issues with microSD card recognition or recording errors, ensure the card is:
- Properly inserted.
- Formatted to FAT32.
- A genuine, high-speed card (U3 recommended for higher resolutions).
- Not exceeding the maximum supported capacity of 128GB.
