5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your Bafang DPC18 UART Display:
- Mount the Display: Choose a suitable position on your handlebar. The display is compatible with handlebar diameters of Φ22.2mm, Φ25.4mm, and Φ31.8mm. Open the left and right clamps of the display and place them in the correct position on the handlebar.
- Adjust and Secure: Adjust the display angle for optimal visibility while riding. Once the angle is set, use an M2.5 hex wrench to tighten the M3*12 hex socket cap screws to a torque of 1 N.m.
- Mount the Keypad: Open the auxiliary switch clamp and place it in a convenient operating position on the handlebar. Adjust its angle for easy access.
- Connect Cables: Align the display connector with the EB-BUS connector according to the markings and connect them. Ensure the system is powered off before connecting or disconnecting any cables.
6. Operating Instructions
The DPC18 display features five buttons: '+', '-', 'i' (Information/Enter), Light, and Power. These buttons allow you to navigate menus and adjust settings.
6.1. Basic Operations
- Power On/Off: Long press the Power button (>) for more than 2 seconds to turn the display on or off. If a password is set, you will need to enter it to access the main interface.
- Auto-Off: The display will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity (configurable in settings).
- PAS Level Selection: In manual shift mode, short press the '+' or '-' buttons to change the pedal assist level. The display supports 0-3, 0-5, or 0-9 PAS levels, with a default maximum of 5.
- Mileage and Speed Mode Switching: Short press the 'i' button to cycle through different display modes: Trip Distance (TRIP), Total Distance (ODO), Maximum Speed (MAX), Average Speed (AVG), Remaining Range (RANGE), Calories (CALORIES), and Time (TIME).
- Headlight/Backlight Control: Long press the Light button (>) for more than 2 seconds to turn the backlight and headlight on or off. The backlight brightness can be adjusted to 5 levels (10%-100%).
- Walk Assist Mode: Long press the '-' button (>) for more than 2 seconds to activate walk assist mode. The display will show a walk assist icon. Release the button to exit this mode.
- ECO/SPORT Mode: Long press the 'i' button (>) for more than 2 seconds to switch between ECO and SPORT riding modes.

To enter the settings menu, double-tap the 'i' button. The menu includes "Display Setting", "Information", and "EXIT". Use the '+' and '-' buttons to navigate and 'i' to select.

10.1. Warranty Period and Scope
The warranty period for this product is 30 months from the production date of the motor. During this period, if any quality issues arise due to material or manufacturing defects, Bafang will provide free repair or replacement services.
10.2. Conditions that Void Warranty
The warranty will be voided if the product is damaged under any of the following circumstances:
- Damage caused by refitting, neglect, improper maintenance, use for competition or commercial purposes, misuse, abuse, or traffic accidents.
- Damage occurring during customer transportation.
- Damage resulting from unreasonable installation, debugging, or repair.
- Damage not caused by material or technological reasons, such as damage due to improper user methods.
- Product appearance and surface changes that do not impact the product's function.
- Damage caused by installation or repair performed by unauthorized personnel or at unapproved service points.
