1. Introduction
The VERFANS LEION HEY Smart Glasses are innovative wearable devices designed to enhance communication through real-time speech-to-text transcription (ASR) and translation capabilities. These glasses are particularly beneficial for individuals with hearing impairments, offering live subtitles directly in their field of view. The Pro version extends language support and translation features.
This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your LEION HEY or LEION HEY Pro glasses.
2. What's in the Box
Upon opening your LEION HEY Smart Glasses package, you should find the following items:

3. Setup
3.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge your LEION HEY Smart Glasses using the provided USB charging cable. Connect the cable to the charging port on the glasses and a compatible USB power adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show the charging status.
3.2 App Installation & Pairing
The LEION HEY Smart Glasses are compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones. Download the dedicated companion app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your glasses with your smartphone via Bluetooth 4.2 and connect to a Wi-Fi network.

3.3 Myopia Frame Installation (Optional)
If you require prescription lenses, use the included myopia frame. Take the myopia frame to an optician to have your prescription lenses fitted. Once fitted, carefully insert the myopia frame into the designated slots within the LEION HEY glasses.

4. Operation
4.1 Power On/Off
To power on the glasses, press and hold the power button (location specified in quick start guide) until the display activates. To power off, press and hold the power button until the shutdown prompt appears, then confirm.
4.2 Real-time Captioning (ASR)
The LEION HEY glasses utilize Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) technology to transcribe spoken words into text, displaying them as subtitles in your field of view. This feature supports Chinese, English, and Korean for the standard LEION HEY model, and additional languages (German, French, Spanish) for the LEION HEY Pro model.

4.3 Real-time Translation (LEION HEY Pro)
The LEION HEY Pro model offers real-time translation. It can translate Chinese speech into English, Korean, German, French, or Spanish subtitles, and vice-versa. This feature is ideal for international conferences, business negotiations, and travel.

4.4 Language Selection & Settings
Use the companion smartphone app to select the desired source and target languages for translation or captioning. The app also provides 'Quick Controls' for adjusting display settings such as brightness, font size, and background color to suit different environments and user preferences.

4.5 ChatGPT Integration
The glasses feature AI-assisted ChatGPT integration, allowing for interactive conversational AI directly within your visual field. This can provide quick information or assistance without needing to look at your phone.

4.6 Privacy and Transparency
The glasses feature dual waveguide lenses with a single-direction virtual screen, ensuring "0" light leakage for privacy. With 85% transparency, they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, providing a clear view of your surroundings while displaying information.
4.7 Mic Array and Noise Reduction
Equipped with a mic array for beamforming, the glasses achieve a voice recognition rate above 85% within 5 meters, even in noisy environments. This advanced noise reduction and accurate sound capture ensure clear communication anytime, anywhere.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and frame. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a lens-cleaning solution. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the lenses and coatings.
5.2 Storage
When not in use, store your LEION HEY Smart Glasses in their protective carrying case to prevent scratches and damage. Keep them away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and high humidity.
5.3 Battery Care
To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the glasses regularly, even if not in constant use. If storing for an extended period, ensure the battery is charged to approximately 50%.
6. Troubleshooting
- Glasses not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to the charger and try again.
- No display/blank screen: Check battery level. Restart the glasses. Ensure they are properly paired with the app.
- Connection issues (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi): Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the glasses are within range. Verify Wi-Fi credentials in the app. Restart both the glasses and your phone.
- Inaccurate ASR/Translation: Ensure a clear audio environment. Speak clearly and at a moderate pace. Check language settings in the app. The voice recognition rate is optimized for within 5 meters.
- App not responding: Close and reopen the app. If the issue persists, reinstall the app.
- Display too dim/bright: Adjust brightness using the 'Quick Controls' in the companion app.
