Introduction
The Kiprim Laser Rangefinder is a compact and highly accurate measurement tool designed for various applications, including distance, area, volume, and Pythagorean measurements. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your device.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
The device is powered by 2 AAA batteries (not included). To install the batteries:
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the device.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Powering On
Press the READ key to turn on the device. The display will illuminate, and the laser will be ready for measurement.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Distance Measurement
- Press the READ key to turn on the device and activate the laser.
- Aim the laser dot at the target point.
- Press the READ key again to take a measurement. The distance will be displayed on the screen.

2. Switching Measurement Modes
The device supports various measurement modes. To switch between modes, press the button with the box symbol (usually located on the lower left, labeled 'Area/Volume/Pythagorean Mode/Save' on some models) repeatedly until the desired mode icon appears on the display.

- Distance Measurement: Measures the linear distance between two points.
- Continuous Measurement: Provides real-time distance updates as the device is moved.
- Area Measurement: Measure two sides (length and width) to calculate the area.
- Volume Measurement: Measure three sides (length, width, and height) to calculate the volume.
- Pythagorean Measurement (2-point): Measures two sides of a right-angled triangle (hypotenuse and one leg) to calculate the third side.
- Pythagorean Measurement (3-point): Measures three sides of a triangle to calculate an unknown height or distance.
3. Changing Units of Measurement
Long press the U button (often combined with the reference point button) to cycle through different units: meters (m), inches (in), feet (ft), and feet+inches (ft+in).

4. Setting Reference Point
Short press the U button to change the measurement reference point between the front edge and the rear edge of the device. This is crucial for accurate measurements depending on where you place the device.

5. Data Record and Storage
The device supports data storage and clearing functions, allowing you to save up to 99 measurement records. It also supports data addition and subtraction functions for complex calculations.

6. Sound On/Off
The device has an operation sound. To toggle the sound on or off, press the button labeled with a speaker icon (often combined with addition/subtraction functions).
7. Video Demonstration
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water. Keep the laser lens clean for optimal performance.
2. Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
1. Self-Calibration
If you suspect accuracy issues, you can perform a self-calibration:
- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the OFF/CLEAR button while simultaneously pressing the READ key to enter calibration mode. The display will show "CAL".
- Use the box symbol keys (measurement mode switch) or the plus/minus keys (addition/subtraction) to adjust the precision.
- Press the READ key to save the setting and complete calibration.
2. Common Issues
- Device does not turn on: Check if batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate measurements: Ensure the laser lens is clean. Perform self-calibration if needed. Note that accuracy may decrease in strong outdoor light or when measuring highly reflective surfaces.
- Sound not working: Press the sound button (speaker icon) to toggle the sound on/off.
