1. Introduction

This Ourlife MT81 5K Action Camera is a high-end HD camera product designed to meet various photography and videography needs. 2. Safety Information and Operation Notes

  • This product is a high-precision device; avoid dropping or impacting it.
  • Do not place the camera near strong magnetic objects (magnets, motors) or objects emitting strong radio waves, as this may cause product failure or damage to images and sound.
  • Avoid placing the camera in high-temperature environments or direct sunlight.
  • Use only a brand-name Micro SD card. Ordinary cards may not guarantee normal operation.
  • Do not store the Micro SD card in or near strong magnetic fields to prevent data loss.
  • If the product overheats, smokes, or emits a smell during charging, immediately disconnect the power to prevent fire.
  • Keep the product out of reach of children, especially during charging, as the power line may pose a risk of accidental suffocation or electric shock.
  • Store the product in a cool, dry place, free from excessive dust.

3. Product Overview

3.1. Camera Components

  • Lens: Captures images and videos.
  • Front Screen: Displays camera status and live view.
  • Rear IPS Touch Screen: Main display for settings, live view, and playback.
  • Blue Light Indicator: Flashes when WiFi is turned on.
  • Red Light Indicator: Always on during charging, turns off when fully charged.
  • UP / Microphone Button: Used for navigation and external microphone input.
  • Down / Wifi / Change Screen Button: Used for navigation, toggling WiFi, and switching between screens.
  • Speaker: For audio playback.
  • MICRO SD Slot: For inserting the memory card.
  • Type-C Port: For charging and data connection.
  • HD OUT Port: For video output.
  • Mode Button: Switches between video and photo modes, and powers the camera on/off.
  • OK Button: Confirms selections and starts/stops recording.

3.2. Camera in Waterproof Case

  • OK Button: Accessible on top.
  • ON/OFF/Mode Button: Accessible on top.
  • Blue Light Indicator: Visible, flashes when WiFi is on.
  • Red Light Indicator: Visible, always on when charging, off when fully charged.

5. Setup

5.1. Inserting the Micro SD Card

Please use a brand-name MicroSD card. It is recommended to format the card on a computer before first use to ensure normal operation. Ordinary, non-brand cards may not function correctly.

5.2. Installing and Removing the Battery

  1. Pull down the cover to open the battery compartment.
  2. Align the battery with the positive and negative symbols and arrows inside the compartment, then insert it correctly until it clicks into place.
  3. The battery power indicator will be shown on the screen (refer to the icon).
  4. To remove the battery, open the battery cover and pull the battery out.

5.3. Battery Charging

  1. Connect the camera to a computer or a power adapter using the provided USB cable to charge.
  2. The camera can be charged while recording.
  3. Charging is also possible when the camera is powered off.

5.4. Assembly Examples

6. Operation

6.1. Camera On/Off

Long press the Mode key for 3-5 seconds to turn the camera on or off.

6.2. Mode Conversion

  • Long press the Mode button to turn on the camera; it will automatically enter video mode.
  • Short press the Mode button to switch between video and photo modes.
  • In video or photo mode, long press the OK button to enter the respective settings.

6.3. Video Recording and Settings

  1. Switch the camera to video mode.
  2. Press the OK button to start recording. Press the OK button again to stop recording.
  3. In video mode, long press the OK button to enter the video setting interface.

6.4. Photo Capture and Settings

  1. Switch the camera to photo mode.
  2. Short press the OK button to take a photo.
  3. Long press the OK button to enter the photo setting interface.

6.5. Playback and Deleting Media

  1. Switch the camera to playback mode.
  2. Short press the OK button to play back the video or photo.
  3. Use the Up/Down key to select the video/photo for playback.
  4. To delete: In playback mode, long press the OK button to delete the selected video/photo. Alternatively, press the Down button to select the "Delete" icon, then use the Mode and Up/Down buttons to select the media you wish to delete, and finally long press OK to confirm deletion.

6.6. Changing Screen Display

Long press the Down button to change the screen display.

6.7. WiFi Connectivity and App Use

Before using the WiFi function, download and install the "iSmart DV2" application on your smartphone.

  • Download App: Search "iSmart DV2" in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  • Turn on WiFi: Short press the Down key on the camera to activate WiFi. The WiFi symbol and information will appear on the screen.
  • Connect to WiFi: On your phone, open WiFi settings, search for the network named "sport-cameras" and connect. The default password is 1234567890.
  • Using the App: Open the "iSmart DV2" app. You can now preview live footage, remotely control shooting, download/share files, and manage photos/videos.
  • App Installation Guide: The app requires Android 4.1 or above, or iOS 7 or above. Scan the QR code provided in the original manual to complete the installation.

6.8. Remote Control Operation

The included remote control allows you to operate the camera from a distance of up to 10 meters, enabling convenient selfies and hands-free recording for sports or vlogs.

6.9. Digital Zoom

The camera supports 5x digital zoom. You can easily zoom in and out by tapping the screen's "zoom in" and "zoom out" icons, making shooting more flexible.

6.10. Car DVR Record Mode and Webcam Functionality

  • Car DVR Mode: The camera features a car mode for continuous video recording in a vehicle. The recommended setting is 730P 30fps with looping record enabled.
  • Webcam Function: The action camera can be used as a web camera by connecting it to a computer via a USB cable. It operates driver-free.

6.11. External Microphone (Optional)

With an external microphone (not included in all bundles, available separately), the camera can capture sound with crisp details, enhancing your video's audio quality.

6.12. Optional Filter Lenses

The camera supports 6 optional filter lenses to meet various shooting needs and enhance creativity. These can be purchased separately.

6.12.1. CPL (Polarizing) Filter Lens

The CPL filter eliminates reflections from glossy surfaces like water or glass, improving image clarity and making colors (blue sky, green leaves) more vivid.

6.12.2. MACRO Filter Lens

This special lens is used for macro photography, allowing you to capture subtle details of small objects like flowers and insects.

6.12.3. Purple Filter Lens

The purple filter allows you to easily take unique purple photos and videos without the need for post-editing.

6.12.4. ND (Light Reduction) Filter Lens

ND filters reduce the amount of light entering the lens, preventing overexposure. This allows for slower shutter speeds in bright conditions, achieving dynamic softening or shallow depth-of-field effects.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Storage

Store the camera in a cool, dry place, free from excessive dust. When not in use, remove the Micro SD card and store it safely. You can copy videos and photos from the SD card to a computer using a card reader.

7.2. Cleaning

Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently clean the camera lens and body. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the camera.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Camera malfunction or image/sound distortion: Ensure the camera is not near strong magnetic objects (magnets, motors) or objects emitting strong radio waves.
  • Overheating, smoke, or smell during charging: Immediately disconnect the power cable from the camera and charger. Do not attempt to use the camera or charger again.
  • Micro SD card issues (e.g., not recording, errors): Ensure you are using a brand-name Micro SD card. Format the card on a computer before first use. Avoid storing the card near strong magnetic fields.
