1. Introduction

2. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Joyusing V160 Pro Book Scanner:

  1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure you have the scanner unit, power adapter, USB cable, and scanning mat.
  2. Place the Scanner: Position the scanner on a stable, flat surface. Place the scanning mat directly beneath the scanner head, ensuring it is centered.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the DC 12V power adapter into the scanner's DC In port (refer to Figure 2 for port locations) and then into a power outlet.
  4. Connect to Computer: Connect the scanner to your computer using the provided USB cable. Use one of the USB In/Out ports on the scanner and connect it to an available USB port on your computer.
  5. Install Software: Insert the provided software CD (if applicable) or download the latest software from the official Joyusing website. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  6. Optional Connections:
    • For external display, connect an HDMI or VGA cable from the scanner's HDMI OUT or VGA OUT port to your monitor or projector.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Scanning

  1. Power On: Press the power button on the scanner base.
  2. Launch Software: Open the Joyusing scanning software on your computer.
  3. Place Document: Place the document or book you wish to scan on the scanning mat, ensuring it is flat and within the A3 scanning area. For books, open them flat.
  4. Adjust Settings: In the software, select your desired scan mode (e.g., color, grayscale, black & white), resolution, and output format (e.g., PDF, JPG, TIFF).
  5. Scan: Click the 'Scan' button in the software, press the physical 'Snap' button on the scanner base, use the hand button, or press the foot pedal to initiate scanning. The scanner will capture the image.
  6. Review and Save: Review the scanned image in the software. Apply any necessary corrections (e.g., trimming, flattening, finger removal) and then save the file to your desired location.
