4. Operating Instructions

The Easythreed K7 and K9 printers are designed for straightforward operation, especially with their one-click print feature.

4.1 Slicing Software

Before printing, your 3D model (STL/OBJ format) needs to be converted into G-code, which the printer understands. You can use the dedicated Easyware K7 slicing software provided, or other compatible software like CURA or Simplify3D.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your 3D printer.

  • Keep Clean: Regularly clean the print bed and the exterior of the printer to prevent dust and debris buildup.
  • Check Filament Path: Ensure the filament path is clear and free of obstructions.
  • Nozzle Cleaning: If you experience extrusion issues, the nozzle may be clogged. Refer to online resources or contact support for safe nozzle cleaning procedures.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Easythreed official website periodically for any available firmware updates to improve printer performance and add new features.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their potential solutions:

  • Filament Not Extruding:
    • Check if the filament is properly loaded and not tangled.
    • Ensure the extruder temperature is set correctly for PLA (180-230°C).
    • The nozzle might be clogged; attempt a cold pull or gentle cleaning.
  • Print Not Sticking to Bed:
    • Ensure the print bed is clean and free of grease.
    • Verify the first layer height and bed leveling.
    • Consider using an adhesive (e.g., glue stick) on the print bed for better adhesion.
  • Poor Print Quality:
    • Check filament quality and ensure it's dry.
    • Adjust print speed and layer thickness in your slicing software.
    • Ensure the printer is on a stable, level surface to minimize vibrations.
  • Printer Not Responding:
    • Verify power connection and ensure the printer is switched on.
    • Check USB cable connection if printing from a computer.
    • Reinsert the TF card and ensure the G-code file is valid.
