This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new multi-effects pedal.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Power-Up

  1. Connect the included power supply to the Power interface (11) on the iE-550 and then to a suitable power outlet. The unit requires DC 9V 500mA.
  2. The display screen will light up, indicating the unit is powered on.

3.2 Connecting Your Instrument and Output

  1. Connect your electric guitar or bass to the Guitar connector (8) using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
  2. Connect the Output interface (9) to your amplifier, mixing console, or headphones using a 1/4-inch cable. This output is compatible with headphone output.

3.3 Bluetooth Connection

To use the Bluetooth music function:

  1. Press the Bluetooth switch button (6) on the iE-550. The Bluetooth indicator on the display will flash.
  2. On your mobile phone or other Bluetooth device, search for "iE-550" in the Bluetooth settings and pair with it.
  3. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will become solid, and you can play music through the iE-550's output.

3.4 Mobile App (Dkit) Connection

The Dkit mobile app allows for advanced sound editing and parameter adjustment.

  1. Download the "Dkit" app from your device's app store.
  2. Ensure your iE-550 is powered on.
  3. Open the Dkit app and follow the in-app instructions to connect to your iE-550. This typically involves Bluetooth pairing or USB connection depending on your device and app version.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Preset Selection

  • Use the Left and Right foot pedals (7) to navigate through the 100 available presets (50 factory, 50 user).
  • The display will show the currently selected preset number.

4.2 Effect Module Customization

The iE-550 features 5 independently movable effect modules: Noise Reduction (NR), Pre-Effects (PRE), Modulation (MOD), Delay (DLY), and Reverb (REB).

  • Use the Main interface knob (1) and Option buttons (2) to select and adjust parameters within each module.
  • The Dkit mobile app provides a more visual and intuitive way to customize and arrange effect modules.

4.3 Expression Pedal Usage

The expression pedal (12) can control various effect parameters or the overall output volume.

  • To switch between controlling effect parameters and output volume, press the top of the expression pedal firmly.
  • The function of the expression pedal can be assigned and configured via the Dkit app or the unit's menu.

4.4 Looper Function

The iE-550 includes a 10-second high-quality looper.

  • To enter the phrase loop interface, long-press one of the footswitches (7).
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to record, overdub, play, and stop loops.

4.5 Drum Machine

Access 100 different drum machine types for practice and creative inspiration.

  • Use the Drum Machine Function Buttons (5) to activate and control the drum machine.
  • Adjust tempo and select drum patterns using the Main interface knob (1) and Option buttons (2), or through the Dkit app.

4.6 Recording (USB Audio & OTG)

The iE-550 supports USB audio for recording to computers and OTG for direct mobile phone recording.

  • Connect the iE-550 to your computer or OTG-compatible mobile phone via the USB interface (10).
  • The iE-550 will function as an audio interface, allowing you to record your guitar/bass signal directly into your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or recording app.
  • Ensure appropriate drivers (if required for PC) are installed and the iE-550 is selected as the audio input device in your recording software.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the pedal in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the unit or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Power Supply: Always use the specified power adapter (DC 9V 500mA) to prevent damage.
