Setup: Charging the Battery Pack
The lithium-ion battery pack is not charged at the factory; please charge it before first use.
First-Time Charging and Optimal Performance:
Charging the battery pack for the first time after purchase or after long-term storage (more than 2 months) may not allow the battery pack to reach its normal maximum operating capacity. For optimal performance, the battery should be fully charged and discharged two or three times. This cycle helps the battery reach its full operating capacity.
Operating the Battery
The BC-32UV battery is designed to power compatible Baofeng two-way radios. Ensure the battery is securely attached to the radio before use.

Maintenance and Safety Precautions

- Avoid Short-Circuits and Fire: Do not short-circuit the battery terminals or dispose of the battery in fire. Never attempt to remove the casing from the battery pack. Baofeng is not responsible for any accidents caused by modifying the battery.
- Charging Temperature: When charging, the ambient temperature should be between 5°C-40°C (40°F - 105°F). Charging outside this range may prevent the battery from fully charging.
- Radio Power Off: Turn off the radio before plugging the battery into the charger. Failure to do so may interfere with proper charging.
- Uninterrupted Charging: To avoid interrupting the charging cycle, do not cut off the power or remove the battery during charging until the green light on the charger indicates a full charge.
- Avoid Overcharging: Do not recharge the battery pack if it is already fully charged. This may shorten the life of the battery pack or cause damage.
- Dry Before Charging: Do not charge the battery or radio if it is damp. Dry it thoroughly before charging to avoid damage.
