8. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

FAQ text from manual

Image: Frequently Asked Questions as presented in the manual.

Q1: Why does the device restart after unplugging the USB when the battery and USB are used simultaneously?
When USB power is detected, the power supply from the battery source is cut off to conserve battery life. After unplugging the USB, the device will restart to switch back to battery power.
Q2: Why does the backlight not light up when using battery power and turning on WiFi?
To extend battery life, the WiFi function is enabled, but the backlight is forcefully turned off when only battery power is used. The backlight will turn back on when connected to USB or 220V power.
Q3: Why does using 220V power supply slightly increase the room temperature by 2-3 °C?
When using 220V power, internal components generate heat, causing the temperature detection to be 2-3 °C higher than the actual temperature. You can calibrate the temperature by -2 °C through the advanced option (third item - temperature compensation) on the device, or adjust it via the app.
Q4: Why does the device not reconnect after being powered on by a battery and connected to WiFi?
When using battery power, WiFi is not turned on by default to conserve battery life. If the device was previously connected to WiFi, press and hold the device for 5 seconds to turn on WiFi, and it will automatically reconnect.
Q5: Why do devices always timeout when searching for them?
Ensure your home network is operating in the 2.4GHz frequency band when adding the device. If it's in the 5GHz frequency band, the device may not be able to be added.

9. User Tips

  • Optimize Battery Life: If using battery power, remember that WiFi is off by default. To reconnect to WiFi, press and hold the device for 5 seconds.
  • Accurate Temperature Readings: If you notice a slight temperature discrepancy when using 220V power, utilize the temperature compensation feature in the advanced settings (or via the app) to adjust it by -2°C for more accurate readings.
  • Network Compatibility: Always ensure your router is set to a 2.4GHz WiFi frequency when initially connecting the thermostat to avoid connection timeouts.
