1. Introduction

The Yottamaster VN Series Hard Drive Enclosure is a high-performance external storage solution designed for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs. Featuring USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type-C) connectivity, it offers data transfer speeds up to 10Gbps. This enclosure supports daisy-chaining for massive storage expansion and includes a built-in 150W power supply with an efficient cooling system to ensure stable and reliable operation. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Yottamaster VN Series enclosure.

4. Setup

4.1 Installing a 3.5" HDD

1. Gently pull out an empty drive tray from the enclosure.
2. Align your 3.5-inch HDD with the tray. For most 3.5" HDDs, the tray supports screwless installation.
3. Slide the loaded tray back into the enclosure until it clicks into place.

4.2 Installing a 2.5" HDD/SSD

1. Gently pull out an empty drive tray from the enclosure.
2. Align your 2.5-inch HDD or SSD with the tray and secure it using the provided screws and screwdriver.
3. Slide the loaded tray back into the enclosure until it clicks into place.

4.3 Connecting to Your Computer

1. Connect one end of the provided 2-in-1 data cable (USB-C) to the USB-C port on the back of the enclosure.
2. Connect the other end of the data cable (USB-C or USB-A, depending on your computer's port) to an available USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps) port on your computer for optimal performance.

4.4 Powering On

1. Connect the provided power cable to the power input on the back of the enclosure.
2. Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable power outlet.
3. Flip the power switch on the back of the enclosure to the 'ON' position. The enclosure will power on, and the drive indicator lights will activate.

5.1 Data Transfer

The Yottamaster VN Series enclosure utilizes the USB 3.1 Gen2 (Type-C) protocol, enabling high-speed data transfers up to 10Gbps. This allows for rapid transfer of large files, such as 1GB in seconds, making it ideal for demanding tasks like video editing and large data backups.

5.2 Daisy-Chain Functionality

The enclosure supports daisy-chaining, allowing you to connect up to three Yottamaster VN Series devices together. This expands your total storage capacity significantly, up to an enormous 330TB (with 22TB drives in each bay).

The LED indicators on each drive bay provide visual feedback on the drive's status:

• Blue light: Indicates a normal operating state for the drive.
• Alternating blue and red: Indicates that the drive is being recognized or data is actively being transferred.

5.4 Intelligent Sleep Function

To conserve energy and extend drive lifespan, the enclosure features an intelligent sleep function. If there is no data activity for 10 minutes, the enclosure will automatically enter a sleep mode.
