2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Pre-Installation Check

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door Hole Diameter: Only suitable for door holes of 54mm (approximately 2.13 inches).
  • Door Thickness: Fits door thicknesses from 35mm to 55mm (1-3/8" to 2-1/8").
  • Backset: Compatible with backsets of 60mm (2-3/8") and 70mm (2-3/4").

2.2 Battery Installation

The lock requires 8 AA batteries (not included). Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity. The lock will provide a low battery alert when replacement is needed.

2.4 App Setup and WiFi Connection

To utilize smart features, download the Arpha smartphone app. The lock features built-in 2.4G WiFi for remote control and management. Ensure your home WiFi network is 2.4G for successful connection. Follow the in-app instructions to pair your lock and connect to WiFi.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Unlocking Methods

The Arpha D280W offers multiple ways to unlock your door:

  • Fingerprint: The AI self-learning biometric fingerprint recognition system identifies your fingerprint in 0.3 seconds with 99.9% accuracy, unlocking the door in 1 second. The lock supports up to 50 unique fingerprints.
  • Passcode: Use the keypad to enter your personalized passcode. The lock supports over 100 PIN codes.
  • App Remote Control: Unlock your door remotely from anywhere using the smartphone app, provided the lock is connected to 2.4G WiFi.
  • Mechanical Key: For traditional access or in case of emergency, use the provided mechanical keys. Spare keys can be copied by professional locksmiths, but the lock cannot be rekeyed.

3.2 Passcode Management

  • Permanent Passcodes: Set permanent codes for regular users.
  • Temporary Passwords: Generate one-time or short-term access codes suitable for visitors, housekeepers, or deliveries.
  • Anti-Peeking Password: To prevent others from guessing your code, you can add random numbers (up to 16 digits) before or after your correct passcode. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer entry.

3.3 Auto-Lock and One-Touch Lock

  • Auto-Lock: Enable the auto-lock feature and set a timer from 5 to 99 seconds. The door will automatically lock after the set time, preventing accidental unlocks.
  • One-Touch Lock: The keypad door lock offers a one-touch lock feature for quick and easy securing of your door.

3.4 Silent Mode

In silent mode, the button beeps are muted. This mode is disabled by default after resetting the lock. Refer to the app settings for enabling/disabling silent mode.

4.1 Low Battery Alert and Replacement

The lock will issue a reminder signal when the battery level is low. Replace all 8 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. The lock also features an emergency power port for temporary power if batteries die before replacement.

4.2 General Care
