This wireless switch is a low-cost, affordable device that allows users to remotely turn on/off connected appliances of different types and brands via the EWeLink app from anywhere, anytime. By setting timing schedules, you can maintain a carefree life. It can also be controlled by an RF remote controller indoors. The module can connect and control four appliances on the APP simultaneously, allowing independent control of each of the four channels. It supports timing functions and device sharing for family control. Voice control is available via Alexa and Google Home/Nest for an intelligent smart home experience.

3. Setup

3.1 Prerequisites

  • Your smartphone or tablet must be connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with internet access.
  • You must have the correct Wi-Fi password for your network.
  • Your smartphone or tablet must have access to the APP Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Your Wi-Fi router should be configured to allow new device connections (Mac-open).

3.2 App Installation and Account Setup

  1. Download and install the EWeLink mobile application from your device's APP Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the EWeLink app.
  3. Register for a new EWeLink account if you don't have one. If you already have an account, simply log in.

3.3 Device Wiring

Important: Ensure all power is disconnected before performing any wiring. Incorrect wiring can damage the device or cause electrical hazards. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.

3.4 Device Pairing (Wi-Fi)

  1. Power up the device after wiring.
  2. Long press the configuration button on the module for approximately 5-7 seconds until the red LED indicator begins to blink rapidly. This indicates the device is in pairing mode.
  3. In the EWeLink app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device.
  4. Select the "Quick Pairing" mode. If quick pairing fails, you can try the "Compatibility Mode (AP)".
  5. Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password when prompted.
  6. Wait for the app to connect to the device. Once connected, the Wi-Fi LED on the module will be solid.
  7. Name your device in the app and complete the setup.

3.5 RF Remote Pairing (if applicable)

If your module supports RF control and you have a compatible 433MHz learning code remote:

  1. Press and hold the 433MHz pairing button on the module for 4 seconds.
  2. While the module is in pairing mode, long press any key on your RF remote control. The module's indicator light will confirm successful pairing.

To clear all paired RF remotes, long press the pairing button on the module for 10-15 seconds.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Controlling Devices via EWeLink App

  • Once the device is added to the EWeLink app, you will see its status and control options.
  • Tap the ON/OFF buttons within the app to control each of the four channels independently.
  • The app will display the real-time status of the manual control switch.

4.2 Working Modes

The module supports three working modes: Inching, Self-locking, and Interlock. You can switch between these modes using the 'Mode Switch' button on the device or through the EWeLink app.

  • Inching Mode: When a channel is switched ON, it will automatically turn OFF after a preset duration. The default inching time is 1 second, but it can be customized from 1 to 3600 seconds in the EWeLink app.
  • Self-locking Mode: Each channel operates like a normal switch, allowing you to turn it ON or OFF independently without affecting other channels.
  • Interlock Mode: When one channel is switched ON, all other channels will automatically turn OFF. This ensures only one device is active at a time.

4.3 Timing and Scheduling

The EWeLink app allows you to set various timing functions:

  • Single Timer: Set a specific time for a device to turn ON or OFF once.
  • Repeat Timer: Schedule devices to turn ON/OFF at recurring times on specific days.
  • Countdown Timer: Set a countdown for a device to turn ON or OFF after a specified period.
  • Loop Timer: Automate repetitive ON/OFF cycles.

4.4 Voice Control Integration

The smart switch is compatible with popular voice assistants:

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your smart controller module:

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. This may void any potential warranty and could lead to damage or injury.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the module to prevent overheating.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Device not pairing:
    • Ensure your smartphone/tablet is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, not 5GHz.
    • Verify that you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password.
    • Check if your router is Mac-open (allows new devices to connect).
    • If "Quick Pairing" fails, try "Compatibility Mode (AP)" in the EWeLink app.
    • Ensure the device is powered on and the red LED is blinking rapidly during pairing attempts.
  • RF Remote not working:
    • Confirm your RF remote is a 433MHz learning code type. Clone codes and rolling code remotes are not supported.
    • Ensure the remote's battery (23A/12V) is installed correctly and has sufficient charge.
    • Re-attempt the RF pairing process as described in Section 3.5.
    • Remember the system can store a maximum of 20 remotes. If more are added, the oldest ones will be lost.
  • Device offline in app:
    • Check your Wi-Fi connection and internet access.
    • Ensure the device is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Restart the smart switch module by cycling its power.
    • Restart your Wi-Fi router.

7. User Tips

  • Customizing Inching Time: The default inching time is 1 second. You can adjust this duration from 1 second to 3600 seconds (1 hour) within the EWeLink app settings for your device.
  • RF Remote Compatibility: When purchasing an RF remote, ensure it is a 433MHz learning code type. Clone codes and rolling code remotes are not compatible with this module.
  • Remote Storage Limit: The module can store up to 20 RF remotes. If you attempt to pair more than 20, the oldest paired remotes will be overwritten and lose their connection.
  • Application Versatility: This module is suitable for various applications including access control, PC boot control, garage doors, house doors, lamps, curtains, gates, and other remote-controlled devices in factories, farms, offices, and instruments.
