Operating Instructions
Full System Diagnostics
The Soloscan provides comprehensive diagnostics for all major vehicle systems, including:
- ABS System
- Engine System
- SAS (Steering Angle Sensor) System
- TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
- IMMO (Immobilizer) System
- Battery System
- Oil Service System
- SRS (Supplemental Restraint System)
- DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) System
- Air Conditioning System
- Transmission System
- And many more...
Key diagnostic functions include:
- Read Fault Codes: Decodes Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to pinpoint fault locations.
- Clear Fault Codes: Erases DTCs and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) after repairs.
- Retrieve ECU Information: Accesses vehicle information such as VIN, Calibration Mark (CALID), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- Graph Live Data Stream: Displays dynamic data streams in real-time, often in graphical (waveform) format, to assess vehicle condition. The 4-in-1 live data stream allows for combined viewing of multiple parameters for comparison.
- Freeze Frame: Records vehicle operating conditions at the moment a fault occurs, aiding in fault confirmation.

ECU Coding (Online & Offline)
The ECU Coding function allows for advanced vehicle module management:
- Online Coding: Accesses online vehicle repair data for high-level repairs and software updates.
- Offline Coding: Reads codes from an original module and writes them to a new module, such as writing a VIN to a new ECU.
- Component Matching: Performs matching, relearning, calibration, or initialization of adaptive data for components after repair or replacement (e.g., suspension calibration, seat matching, sunroof initialization, gearbox matching, injector calibration, transmission adaptation).
- Retrofit/Modification: Enables modifications like retrofitting a battery of a different type or upgrading lights to LED.
- Unlock Hidden Features: Activates or deactivates certain vehicle functions (e.g., disable auto start-stop, disable daytime running lights, disable seatbelt chime, set speed limits).
Note: ECU Coding functionality is available only for VW, Audi, Benz, and BMW vehicles.

Bi-Directional Control (Active Test)
The Bi-Directional Control feature allows the Soloscan to send commands to the vehicle's ECU to actuate specific components and test their integrity. This helps in quickly identifying faulty parts by observing their operation. Examples include:
- Wiper Test
- Clutch On/Off
- Headlamps On/Off
- Windows & Doors operation
- Sunroof Setting
- Engine Status Monitor
- And more...
Note: Active tests are not universal for all vehicles. Compatibility varies by manufacturer, year, and model. Always check compatibility with your VIN before performing active tests.
