5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your Imagebon Dashcam:

  1. Prepare the Device: Turn off your car engine. Insert a high-speed Class 10 SD card (up to 256GB) into the dash cam's card slot.
  2. Mount the Dashcam: Fix the smart screen securely on the center console of your car using the telescopic bracket and dashboard pad mounting disk.
  3. Connect Power: Insert the car charger into your car's cigarette lighter socket.
  4. Connect Extension Cable: Connect the USB port of the dash cam to the car charger with the provided charging extension cable. Route the cable neatly along the edge of the windshield.
  5. Install Rear Camera (Optional):
    • Install the rear camera on the rear of the vehicle, paying attention to its orientation.
    • Route the camera cable along the roof of the vehicle.
    • Connect the rear plug to the rear camera jack of the dash cam.

    Warning: Due to different car models, professional assistance is recommended for rear camera installation. Ensure wiring is done strictly according to instructions to prevent damage.

  6. Install GPS Antenna: Connect the 3m GPS antenna to the GPS jack on the dashcam. Position the antenna for optimal signal reception.
  7. Adjust Lens: Adjust the dash cam's lens position to ensure it is level and captures the desired view.
  8. Test Installation: Start the car engine and check that the device powers on, the system indicator lights up, and recording begins. Verify that the display screen shows a normal, non-inverted picture. If the picture is inverted, refer to the troubleshooting section or contact support.

6. Operation

6.1. Power Key Functions

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off. When powering off, the device automatically saves video files.
  • Display Backlight: Short press the power button to enter screen saver (HUD) mode. Short press again to sleep and turn off the backlight. Short press once more to light up the screen.
  • Reset: If the recorder crashes, short press the reset hole on the back of the fuselage and reconnect power to return to normal operation.

6.2. Screensaver and Hibernation

You can configure screen saver settings under Settings > Display > Screen Saver. The device automatically enters screen saver mode after one minute of inactivity. If sleep screensaver is enabled, it will work in conjunction with the screen saver. Closing the screen saver will enable sleep mode.

6.3. Main Interface Navigation

The main interface displays various applications and functions. Tap the corresponding icon to access them.

  • Navigation: Tap the "Navigation" icon to enter the default map application. Long press to select a different navigation app.
  • File: Access the file manager to copy, paste, delete, and manage files.
  • Mirror Link: Cast your mobile phone's screen (videos, pictures, music) to the dashcam display.
  • CarPlay (for iOS): Connect wirelessly to use CarPlay features.
  • Android Auto (for Android): Connect wirelessly to use Android Auto features.
  • Camera: Open the full-screen streaming media rearview mirror preview.
  • Audio Out: Select audio output methods.
  • Applist: View and manage installed applications.
  • Spotify, YouTube, Google Store: Access these applications directly from the main interface.

6.4. Audio Output Modes

The device supports three audio play modes:

  1. Native Audio (Built-in Speaker): Use the right switch to control whether the built-in speaker outputs audio.
  2. FM Audio (FM Transmitter):
    • Turn on the FM function in the settings.
    • Manually adjust the frequency to an empty band with no sound.
    • Turn on your car's FM radio and tune it to the same frequency.
  3. Bluetooth Transmitter Audio: Connect your phone via Bluetooth 5.1 for hands-free calling, music playback, and voice broadcast.

  4. AUX Audio Output: Connect the device to your car's AUX IN equipment using the AUX cable. Ensure both the device's and car's AUX cables are inserted and the car's audio input is switched to AUX.

6.5. Multimedia Playback

The device supports playing video, music, and viewing images from a U disk (USB-A 4pin interface). Supported video formats include MP4, MOV, 3GP, MKV, FLV, WMV (does not support 2K and 4K resolution video). Supported music formats include MP3, OGG, AAC, FLAC, WAV (does not support WMA, APE). Supported picture formats include JPG, BMP.

Note: The 6.86-inch version of this device does not support U disk local playback function.

6.6. Settings

Tap the "Settings" icon to access system settings and perform various operations.

  • Wireless Data: Manage WiFi (2.4G/5G), hotspot, and GPS positioning. Turn on/off WiFi to scan for available networks.
  • Screen Control: Adjust brightness, day/night mode, screen saver time, and turn the screen on/off.
  • Others: Control SPK switch (car sound on/off), FM switch, volume adjustment, and rear camera mirror flip (adjust left/right position).
  • Apps & Notifications: Manage installed applications, view usage, and uninstall programs.
  • Storage: View total capacity, available space, and used space.
  • System:
    • Language & Input: Set device language and input methods.
    • Date & Time: Set date, time, time zone, and 24-hour format.
    • Reset Options: Reset WLAN, mobile data, Bluetooth settings, or application preferences.
    • About Device: View system information such as Android version, firmware version, kernel version, and processor type.

6.7. Split Screen Function

The device supports split-screen functionality, allowing you to run two applications simultaneously, for example, navigation and audio playback.

To use split screen (e.g., Audio + Map):

  1. Start the first application (e.g., Audio Out) and then exit.
  2. Start the second application (e.g., Navigation map).
  3. Long press the "Split Screen" icon (usually a square with two vertical lines) to activate split screen mode and select the desired applications.

6.8. GPS Functionality

The external GPS module accurately logs your vehicle's location, speed, latitude, longitude, and route. It supports GPS track playback, automatic time adjustment, and speed display.

7. Maintenance

  • Clean the screen and exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Keep the device away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected and free from damage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Check the car charger connection and ensure the car's cigarette lighter socket is functional.
  • Device crashes/freezes: Short press the reset hole on the back of the fuselage and reconnect power.
  • Inverted rear camera picture: This indicates an installation issue. Please contact customer support for assistance.
  • No audio output: Check the selected audio output mode (Native, FM, Bluetooth, AUX) and ensure connections are correct. For FM, verify the frequency matches your car radio. For AUX, ensure both device and car AUX cables are connected and the car's input is set to AUX.
  • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting: Ensure Bluetooth and WiFi are enabled on both the dashcam and your phone. Try restarting both devices.
  • GPS not acquiring signal: Ensure the GPS antenna is properly connected and positioned with a clear view of the sky.

  • For optimal recording performance, always use a Class 10 or higher speed TF (Micro SD) card.
  • Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connect quickly and provide a seamless experience for navigation and media.
