4. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your thermal label tapes and printer, consider the following maintenance tips:
- Storage: Store unused label rolls in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent degradation of the thermal coating and adhesive.
- Cleaning: While the labels are water and oil-proof, avoid prolonged exposure to harsh chemicals. For the printer, regularly clean the print head with a soft, lint-free cloth or a specialized cleaning pen to maintain print quality.
- Handling: Handle label rolls by the edges to avoid transferring oils from your skin to the printing surface, which can affect print quality.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while using your label tape, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No print or faint print | Label roll loaded incorrectly (face up instead of face down); dirty print head; low battery. | Ensure label paper is face down; clean the print head; charge the printer battery. |
| Labels not feeding correctly or jamming | Label roll not seated properly; paper path obstruction; incorrect label size selected in app. | Re-seat the label roll; check for and remove any obstructions; verify the label size in the app matches the physical roll. |
| Printer not connecting via Bluetooth | Bluetooth disabled on device; app permission issues; printer too far from device. | Ensure Bluetooth is enabled; grant necessary app permissions; keep printer and device within close range. Restart both devices if necessary. |
| Poor print quality (blurry, uneven) | Dirty print head; old or damaged label tape; incorrect print density settings. | Clean the print head; replace the label tape if it's old or damaged; adjust print density settings in the app if available. |
