Setup and Installation

Carefully follow the wiring diagram below to connect the sound and light module to your RC truck's receiver and power source. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on.

Double E S022 Wiring Diagram for Sound and Light Module
Figure 2: Double E S022 Wiring Diagram

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Power Connection (1): Connect the power input (6-11V) to a suitable power source. This can be your truck's main battery or a separate power supply within the specified voltage range.
  2. Speaker Connection (2): Connect the sound simulator speaker unit to the designated port on the control module.
  3. Receiver Connections:
    • Throttle Control (CH3): Connect the throttle control wire from your RC receiver's Channel 3 to the module.
    • Steering Control (CH1): Connect the steering control wire from your RC receiver's Channel 1 to the module.
    • Dumping Control (CH5-CH6) (Optional, Separately Purchased): If you have a dumping mechanism, connect its control wires to Channels 5 and 6 of your receiver and the corresponding ports on the module.
  4. Lighting Connections (Optional):
    • Head Light Board (Separately Purchased): Connect the head light board to the module.
    • Tail Light Board: Connect the tail light board to the module.
    • Ensure all lighting connections are made to the correct ports for front lighting, turn signals, brake lights, and reverse lights as indicated on the diagram.
  5. Ground Wire (5): Connect the ground wire from the module to the negative pole of your receiver.
  6. Volume Control (6): The module includes a volume control input.
  7. Voice Control (7): The module includes a voice control input.
  8. Spare Line (8): A spare line is available for additional connections or future expansions.

Important: Always double-check all connections for correct polarity and secure fitment before applying power to prevent damage to the module or your RC equipment.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

  1. Power On: Ensure all connections are correct. Power on your RC transmitter first, then connect the battery to your RC truck and the sound module. You should hear an ignition sound.
  2. Throttle Control: As you apply throttle on your transmitter, the engine sound will increase proportionally, simulating acceleration. Releasing the throttle will simulate deceleration.
  3. Steering Control: Turning the steering wheel may activate turn signal sounds if connected and configured.
  4. Braking: Applying brakes will trigger brake sound effects.
  5. Reverse: Shifting into reverse will activate reverse warning sounds.
  6. Parking/Handbrake: After parking, a handbrake sound effect will engage.
  7. Power Off: Disconnect the battery from the RC truck and sound module first, then power off your RC transmitter.

Mode Function:

The S022 module comes with 3 different sound effect modes: light trucks, heavy trucks, and heavy construction vehicles. To switch between these modes, press and hold the MODE button (if present on your module, or refer to your RC transmitter's programmable functions if controlled remotely) for 3 seconds. The module will indicate the change with a distinct sound or light pattern.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the module and speaker free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage. Loose connections can lead to intermittent operation or component failure.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the sound module in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid Overloading: Ensure your power source and receiver can handle the current draw of the sound module and any connected lighting.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No sound from speakerNo power to module; Speaker not connected; Volume too low; Damaged speaker/module.Check power connection (6-11V); Ensure speaker is securely plugged in; Increase volume; Inspect speaker/module for damage.
Incorrect or no sound effects for controlsIncorrect receiver channel connections; Module in wrong mode.Verify CH1 (steering) and CH3 (throttle) connections as per diagram; Switch sound mode by holding MODE button for 3 seconds.
Lights not workingLight boards not connected; Damaged lights/wiring; Insufficient power.Ensure head/tail light boards are correctly connected; Check wiring for breaks; Verify power supply is adequate.
Module not respondingPower issue; Faulty module.Check all power connections and voltage; If problem persists, contact support.

User Tips

  • Always perform a quick visual check of all wiring before each use to ensure nothing has come loose during operation.
  • Experiment with the different sound modes to find the one that best suits your specific model truck and driving style.
  • If you experience any unexpected behavior, the first step should always be to power down, re-check all connections against the wiring diagram, and then power back up.
