Setup Guide
Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. Always handle the motherboard by its edges to avoid static discharge.
1. CPU Installation
- Locate the AM5 socket on the motherboard.
- Open the CPU retention mechanism.
- Carefully align the AMD Ryzen AM5 processor with the socket, ensuring the triangular markers match. Do not force the CPU into the socket.
- Close the retention mechanism to secure the CPU.
- Apply thermal paste to the CPU (if not pre-applied on your cooler).
- Install your CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.

3. Storage Device Installation
M.2 SSDs:
- Identify the M.2 slots. This motherboard has two M.2 slots (2242/2280 PCIe 4.0 X4/X2 channel SSDs), one on the front and one on the back of the PCB.
- Remove the M.2 standoff screw.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at an angle.
- Gently push down the SSD and secure it with the standoff screw.
SATA Drives:
- Connect SATA data cables from your storage devices (HDDs/SSDs) to the two SATA 3.0 interfaces on the motherboard.
- Connect SATA power cables from your power supply to the storage devices.
4. PCIe Expansion Card Installation
- Locate the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot.
- Remove the corresponding expansion slot cover from your PC case.
- Align your graphics card or other PCIe expansion card with the slot and press firmly until it is seated correctly.
- Secure the card with a screw to the PC case.
5. Power Connections
- Connect the 24-pin ATX motherboard power connector from your power supply to the corresponding socket on the motherboard.
- Connect the 8-pin ATX 12V CPU power connector from your power supply to the corresponding socket.
6. Front Panel and Fan Connections
- Connect your chassis front control panel headers (F_PANEL) for power button, reset button, HDD LED, and power LED.
- Connect system fans to the system fan headers and the CPU cooler fan to the CPU fan header.
- For ARGB lighting, connect compatible devices to the two 5V ARGB pins and one 12V NRGB pin.
7. Rear I/O Connections
Connect your peripherals to the rear I/O ports as shown in Figure 4.

2. Cleaning
Regularly clean your PC case and motherboard to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and reduced performance. Use compressed air to remove dust from heatsinks, fans, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
3. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the MAXSUN official website for the latest BIOS/UEFI firmware updates. Updating firmware can improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update carefully.
Troubleshooting
1. System Not Booting
- Check Power Connections: Ensure the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU power connectors are securely seated.
- Reseat Components: Reinstall CPU, RAM, and graphics card to ensure they are properly seated.
- Clear CMOS: If you encounter boot issues after changing BIOS settings, use the rear CLR_CMOS button to reset BIOS settings to default. Ensure the system is powered off before clearing CMOS.
- Minimum Configuration: Try booting with only the CPU, one stick of RAM, and the graphics card (if no integrated graphics) to isolate the issue.
2. Network Connectivity Issues
- Wired Network: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the RJ45 port. Check your network drivers. The motherboard features a Realtek 8125 2.5G network card.
- Wireless Network: Ensure Wi-Fi antennas are properly connected. Check Wi-Fi drivers and settings in your operating system. The motherboard supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
