4.2. App Installation

Depending on your beacon model and desired functionality, you will use one of two applications:

  • **Holyiot-beacon App:** For models Holyiot-21014 (with or without Accelerometer) and Holyiot-21060, primarily for iBeacon/Eddystone configuration and basic sensor data.
  • **BLESensor App:** For models Holyiot-21061 and Holyiot-21091, designed for advanced sensor data interaction.

Download the relevant app from your device's app store (e.g., Apple App Store for iOS, Google Play Store for Android) by searching for "Holyiot-beacon" or "BLESensor", or by scanning the QR code provided in the app usage instructions below.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Using the Holyiot-beacon App (for models 21014, 21060)

  1. **Download App:** Search and download "Holyiot-beacon" from the App Store or scan the QR code. (This operation manual uses an iPhone as a demonstration).
  2. **Search Device:** Open the app and search for your device. The app will display available beacons, iBeacons, or Eddystone devices. Android phones may need to switch between beacon/iBeacon/Eddystone modes if the device is not appearing. If you need to switch, please use an iPhone to operate.
  3. **Connect Device:** Connect to the device to obtain more information.
  4. **Enter Password:** Click "Connect" and enter the default password: aa14061112.
  5. **Configure Parameters:** Once connected, you can view details and configure parameters such as advertising intervals, power levels, and sensor thresholds.
  6. **Change Mode:** You can switch the device's operating mode between Beacon, iBeacon, and Eddystone as needed.

5.2. Using the BLESensor App (for models 21061, 21091)

  1. **Download App:** Search and download "BLESensor" for iOS from the App Store.
  2. **Power On & Scan:** Power on the sensor. After initializing, the device enters standby mode. Press the button on the beacon to make the BLE device enter high-frequency advertising mode. Then, open the BLESensor app and click "Scan" to search for nearby eligible devices. You can repeat this process and click "Scan" again if your device does not appear.
  3. **Connect & Interact:** Click the device in the list to establish a Bluetooth connection and enable data interaction.
  4. **Observe Data:** Turn on the data switch on the right side of each item (e.g., Barometer, Magnetometer, Gyroscope, Accelerometer, Temperature, Humidity) to observe real-time changes in the sensor data.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

The Holyiot Beacon Tag uses a standard CR2032 button cell battery, which is replaceable. When the battery is low, the device's performance may degrade, or it may stop advertising. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation steps.

6.2. Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they may damage the casing or compromise the waterproof seal.

6.3. Storage

Store the beacon in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, consider removing the battery to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device not found by app:
    • Ensure the beacon has a fresh CR2032 battery and is powered on.
    • For BLESensor app, press the beacon's button to activate high-frequency advertising mode.
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
    • Move closer to the beacon.
    • For Holyiot-beacon app on Android, try switching between beacon/iBeacon/Eddystone modes if available.
    • Restart the app and try scanning again.
  • Cannot connect to the device:
    • Verify the default password (aa14061112) for the Holyiot-beacon app.
    • Ensure no other device is currently connected to the beacon.
    • Try restarting both the beacon (by re-inserting the battery) and your smartphone's Bluetooth.
  • Inaccurate sensor readings:
    • Ensure the beacon is placed in an environment suitable for accurate readings (e.g., not in direct sunlight for temperature, away from strong magnetic fields for magnetometer).
    • Check if the correct model-specific app (Holyiot-beacon or BLESensor) is being used.
  • Short battery life:
    • Ensure you are using a high-quality CR2032 battery.
    • High advertising frequency or continuous sensor data streaming can reduce battery life. Adjust settings in the app if possible.

8. User Tips

  • For optimal performance, keep the beacon within the recommended Bluetooth range of your receiving device.
  • When configuring multiple beacons, label them clearly to avoid confusion.
  • Regularly check the battery level through the app to ensure continuous operation.
